Open your eyes: Huckabee people are on our side...

I know Mike personally - you are not describing Mike Huckabee. You might perceive that to be him, but you are indeed wrong. Im sure ill get flamed for posting this, but it needs to be said.

Mike isn't perfect. he had some great ideas and some not so good ones.

Please dont make blanket statements like that.

Im just proposing that we work together for the good of the nation.

You are correct, Mike is in no way perfect. He was by far the worst candidate running, right after McCain. Here is why I say this, you can try to dispute it if you like, Im more then happy to back it up with evidence...

Mike Huckabee is known in his own state as "tax hike Mike", he loves to raise taxes. Ron Paul is known as the tax payers best friend.

Mike Huckabee loves to accept gifts from clients and lobbyist, which has always been a huge conflict of interest. (More then happy to cite other sources if you like)

Mike Huckabee used his position and influence to keep his criminal son out of prison.

Mike Huckabee is for a national ban on smoking. A perfect example of big government vs states rights...

I can actually bring up loads more material against Mike Huckabee, I mean there is more material out there then I could even post for you in an evening. Bottom line, Mike Huckabee is a dirt bag, one of the worst out there. Only one worse is John McCain. And sorry, but I have little to no respect for those that would really rally behind a scumbag of this kind. Though he is not a CFR member, he is/was more then happy to do their bidding. He is absolutely a CFR member wannabe.

Huckabee is truly a piece of human garbage, the only thing about him that is even remotely impressive, was his ability to lose so much weight. If he wrote a diet book, THAT I would probably buy. Its great youre here, the more the merrier. However, IMHO, youd do yourself alot of good to denounce Huckabee, and say something more along the lines of, "WOW I didnt realize how much of a scumbag he really is". Then tell us you have had a change of heart, and realize it was RP all the way. :) Now that would be cool, and get you alot of respect points from me.

I'm only posting all of this, because it bothers me a bit to see how many people posting here seem to speak highly of the Huxter, when honestly he does not deserve it. I really dont think alot of people, including yourself really know Huckabee well enough.

For the record, before I found Ron Paul, I was a Tancredo supporter. However it did not take me long to realize I was backing the wrong man, and drop my support, for Tancredo, like a hot potato.

Feelgood,

Can you please try to understand that some of us are trying to work with people who are different from us?

Making comments like yours sabotages that effort, alienates potential allies and will convince nobody to think any differently than they do now.

Not making comments like yours makes it a lot easier for people like me who are trying to work with other people.

Pretty please, cease and desist. We're trying to get our country back here, not convince anyone that Huckabee sucks. Remember, he's already dropped out of the race? We have a few people here from Huck's camp who've extended an olive branch, have a little respect.

Thank you so much Amy. I had a post, but it was out of anger so I didn't go through with it.

Listen Feelgood, you can have your own thread filled with as much Huckabee hate as your heart desires. That's not what we are here for. Basically, all you've done is work to alienate other conservatives. Remember how we are trying to promote conservatism? Well you are just being a jerk and alienating people who might be influenced by you, and who might influence you.

You are awfully close-minded. Good job.

Some people like to speak as if they have some moral highground because they support a man running for president.

Ron Paul isn't perfect either. i.e. Newsletters

You're welcome. And good for you for having the self-control to not post when angry--we could all improve upon that.

It would go a long way, Feelgood, if you would delete your post and just type the word "sorry" in the text box. Nobody has quoted you yet. Consider this a good opportunity to take the high road.

If you do, then I'll edit my post to say "Apology accepted. Thank you." Please, Feelgood, I'm really trying to work with some people here. It's not about Huck or Ron Paul anymore, it's about effecting real change in our government, and it ain't easy.

But it is true. They want our vote, not our voice.

WHAT? Pretty sure they let Huckabee speak his voice, pretttyy often in the MSM. Matter of fact, I think he was the no. 1 guy to beat for awhile there.

Ain't on par with us, no comparison.

Ron Paul supporters; they don't want our voice, or our vote.

Oh, they want our votes, all right--as long as we don't insist on voting our consciences. It's only when we categorically refuse to vote for the lesser of evils that they cease to want them...

As to Mike Huckabee. He was not the worst. He was never the worst. Remember 9iu11iani? Furthermore, he categorically, officially dropped out. Now we need to grow up just enough to consider two things:

Do we need greater numbers than we have? Do we need a bigger tent or are we an exclusive private little club like the RINOs who just want to disenfranchise everyone else? Do we need more people or less to succeed?

How does the MSM laughing at Dr. Paul make you feel? Why would you wish that feeling on someone else? Whether or not Huckabee deserves your respect is irrelevant. The ranks of his supporters include enough people you don't know that you have no way of knowing how many deserve the greatest respect--maybe not for their political acumen, but the greatest respect nonetheless. Sometimes civilized society requires you give people the benefit of the doubt.

Beating a dead horse is not only a waste of effort, it is deeply offensive to some people you would rather not offend.

Of course Amy, some of us here understand that, go right ahead and do it.

However, please understand that some here also disagree with you and have absolutely no interest in doing that.

Just let the marketplace of competing and conflicting ideas work itself out, please.

Thanks! :)

Well, here's a competing idea. Better to have the Huckabee people inside the tent pissing out or outside the tent pissing in?

I'd prefer it if we are both pissing on the dead carcass of McCain...

Hold up! Thats why Huckabee & Romney have only 'suspended' their campaigns... in case thats exactly what happens. When you're a real supporter, [and that means you: PRESERVE, PROTECT, and DEFEND the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES, when you wouldn't go crawling back to those scummy campaigns that ditched their efforts in an attempt to avoid a brokered convention. Romney deserting his supporters because he was told to by the party elite. If they would refuse to crawl back to those campaigns, if they decided to take a stand on principles for once in their lives, or damn well do it again. Then they'd have my undying respect & gratitude for the rest of their days.

Yeah, me too. But I'm not going to stand next to you pissing on McCain if you're trying to kick me. I'm funny that way...

And I expect former Huckabee people are, too.

I neither let nor prevent the "marketplace" of ideas work itself out. I was hoping you guys could understand that this is not always about beating people down when you disagree, how about working with people and being mature enough to not use incendiary language to get your point across?

Two examples to illustrate my point, say a guy wearing a Huck '08 pin sits next to you at a bar, are you the kind of person who says:

a) Mike Fuckabee is a bible-thumping maggot who doesn't know shizznit about foreign policy and he's a pandering dolt who looks like Jim Nabors after he spent too much time in the sauna! And you're an idiot for voting for him! RON PAUL YOU MONKEY BOY!

-or-

b) Hey, I see you support Huckabee. What do you like about him? I hear he's for the Fair Tax, etc. etc.

In scenario a) while there may be some truth to your spewings that you can back up, you have effectively alienated someone and I guarantee you, they will never listen to a word you say and he'll likely walk away muttering "they were right about Paul supporters being nutjobs and close-minded jerks. Screw them.

In scenario b) you just may end up with an ally for smaller government, tax reform and substantial change. You might also end up convincing the person on a few things like the Fed, state's rights, etc.

So, while you may support the "beat them over the head" route, I don't. I've never been convinced that way, and I don't know anyone who ever has. Someone hands you an olive branch, and you agree with slapping them for it, metaphorically. Good for you. This is why we can't have supporters of other candidates on the boards, thanks for being a part of it.

Your perspective has been noted. Some do, some don't. Different strokes for different folks.<IMHO> Whatever floats YOUR boat. :)

Thanks!

Erhm, generally - when we are both pissing on McCain, its not advisable to challenge each other to a game of sword fights in the middle of the process. One hand on the nozel. The other is for high fiving your mates, whilst the neocons drown in our body's waste products.

If they've ditched him for good, and have learnt from their past mistakes. Then I welcome them aboard as a true revolutionaries.

Like my photoshop skills? :D
