Only 17.51% of RP supporters voted in Iowa. No wonder we were 5th. Learn from stats:

Unless I read the spreadsheet incorrectly, the turnout for all other candidates was 10%. We had 17%. We need to do much better to win, but this is about 70% or almost 3/4 better than turnout for the other candidates. Sure 17% sounds terrible but we need to keep things in perspective. If we did terrible, then how did the other candidates do?

If we can get this to just 25%, we'll start placing consistently in the top 3. If we get much higher, I can see us winning this thing but the emphasis has to be on getting current supporters out to vote.

Take your spreadsheet, and your sounds terrible statistics, and put some emphasis on placing consistently in the top 3 by getting supporters to:

Get off their asses and...

Go Fucking Vote!

If Hannity tells me that Ron Paul lost New Hampshire due to you young fucks not voting, I will get my 4600 dollars back, fly out there, and personally bury you upside down.

lol, ok I'm done trying to put a positive spin on things...

I wont get my money back, but I got no time for dribble, and neither do you... Game face.

Are you going to bring home the Bacon, or is it another useless fricking exercise?

You've already let the side down...

How about getting off your lazy self righteous asses this time...

and

Go Fucking Vote!

+1 :)

I know from experience here in DC, the official campaign has been hostile to GOTV, refused to do it themselves, sabotaged the grassroots efforts we had been working on for months, and has substituted their flawed "precinct captain" approach instead. One of our volunteers here is not in that database (the former owners of the house is listed at his address).

They should be using the information from the grassroots identifying supporters and turning them out to vote. Instead we have control freak central planners succumbing to Hayek's fatal conceit thinking they know better than all of us combined with local knowledge. I don't think that HQ has even incorporated their own supporter database into their approach.

I did data requests from the DC Board of Elections and Ethics starting back at the beginning of the summer, laid out a plan that a group of volunteers had devised working together, and at the end of the day HQ tells everyone not to cooperate! The arrogance and incompetence of the official staffers astounds us.

Good Grief! Hasn't anybody noticed the importance of this posting?

I know this isn't happening with me. I am 17 and I just got finished filling out my registration to vote in the primary in illinois.

True words! Vote, Vote, Vote! Drive your lazy friends out to vote! Call you family and remind them to vote (unless, they are scHmuck supporters LOL) There is NO excuse for not voting. Not everyone has the energy to canvass, the time to write letters, the money to donate, or the persistance to phone call....but everyone can vote.

If people are SOOOOO lazy that they can't take 30 minutes out of their life to vote, than we indeed deserve to lose.

If you only do one thing for Ron Paul, let it be to vote.

I got a lot of time for Bradley, but he tends to be obtuse.

How about a direct answer?

Stop drawing attention to yourself, and Vote!

I used to play for the Hinsdale South Hornets.

Go fucking vote young man!

Anybody from Hinsdale? Spent a few years in Plainfield. Illinois.

It's called Getting Out the Vote (GOTV). You spend all the time leading up to an election identifying and persuading voters. Then you spend the day before and the day of the election getting these favorable voters to the polls.

Exactly! Quit blaming the "young f*cks". Really who knows the ages of those who did/did not show up? We need to be out canvassing our butts off. If 80 percent of Meetup members would sign up to be precinct captains we'd have almost 75,000 precinct captains. Instead we only have about 2,600. Blast this out to your meetup group. People MUST sign up to be ground troops for Paul if we're going to win this thing.

John M. Drake

I don't watch Fox news. Also, I'm 25 so I guess I would be considered one of the younger voters - I'm just trying to be realistic here. I know how hard it is to get my friends off their asses to even fill out the form to register Republican. Then, its another battle to get them off their asses to vote when the day arrives. If we could get 25% turnout that would be amazing.

The people saying we should should get 75% plus are simply not being realistic. These may be the same people who thought we could take first place in Iowa.

I'm pretty sure the average turnout in primaries is 10%, so while 17% sounds bad, its actually better than normal.

Obviously, we should focus on getting as many supporters out to vote as possible, as this is clearly the key to victory, but we should not expect a near perfect turnout because you're doing nothing more than guarenteeing yourself disappointment.

Look on the Turnout sheet. 17% is nothing to get excited about. It's been done regularly, especially in NH, for many other candidates.

The 6% polling number is from "likely Caucus goers", not the entire general population or even all registered voters. Your whole analysis is faulted by this fact.

Yes, I see that now, and I don't think his point makes sense. The 6% he uses is based on pollsters calling likely Republican primary voters, not all eligible voters. tttar is then taking that 6% and applying it to the million people who don't care about politics and calling them "supporters". Then he turns around and lambastes these imaginary supporters for being lazy.

My interpretation of the data, on the other hand, is that we need to create more supporters out of those eligible voters who might lean toward Ron Paul if forced to choose.
agreed

Wow, you've spent six hours sitting on the computer, posting the same message over and over again.

Why don't you get off the computer and go make a difference in the real world instead of verbally abusing people who already agree with you?

You sir are a hypocrite.

Unfortunately, this 21-year-old young fuck who has voted in all three major elections he has been eligible for is not in New Hampshire! Nor will he be in his home state on the 5th, when the primary is!

My absentee ballot is on the way, though.

It's often all about the turn out. That's why Huckabee did so well. Those bible beaters are an organized voting block.

Absolutely correct, and pissed as a fart (different time zones).
