Only 17.51% of RP supporters voted in Iowa. No wonder we were 5th. Learn from stats:

I don't watch Fox news. Also, I'm 25 so I guess I would be considered one of the younger voters - I'm just trying to be realistic here. I know how hard it is to get my friends off their asses to even fill out the form to register Republican. Then, its another battle to get them off their asses to vote when the day arrives. If we could get 25% turnout that would be amazing.

The people saying we should should get 75% plus are simply not being realistic. These may be the same people who thought we could take first place in Iowa.

I'm pretty sure the average turnout in primaries is 10%, so while 17% sounds bad, its actually better than normal.

Obviously, we should focus on getting as many supporters out to vote as possible, as this is clearly the key to victory, but we should not expect a near perfect turnout because you're doing nothing more than guarenteeing yourself disappointment.

You're the kind of person who needs to get these "useless bastards" from behind their 19" monitors, and their pretend 19" Revolution, out in the fuc*ing streets, kicking some fu%cking ass!

Make yourself heard, stop being a statistic, and...

Go Fucking Vote!

I'm with you 100%. I have voted in every primary and every election since I turned 18. Getting a high turnout should be our #1 priority as the math proves without any doubt that we could win with our current level of support!

The problem is, most voters are SO damn brainwashed by the polls and simply don't realize this. This is why we need to keep this thread bumped and make sure the message spreads.

Our goal shoud be turnout as high as possible, I was only saying don't count on 75% plus because you are guarenteed to be disappointed. If we could get 25% we'll have the numbers to be considered "top tier". If we get 30% + we can win the nomination.

You don't have to have unrealistic expectations to win. KEEP THIS THREAD BUMPED!

It's really over, isn't it?

Great thread, from the useless little shits.

How fu@king inspiring! Shove another John Wayne DVD into the player.

Wow, I gave the youngsters way too much credit. I really thought that this time would be different.

I feel for you. But listen to yourselves...

I guess stupidity and ignorance still dominates [in the official campaign]. IDIOTS!!!

Ask yourselves: did the immigration attack ad on Huckabee rally ALL of Dr. Paul's supporters to the polls OR did it turn off some of us.

Go back and check for threads here for an indication. I'll wait.

Can one of you guys drug and kidnap my brother, and put him on a slow boat to Australia?

Before the next inauguriation, scores bonus points...

Seeming you've given up.

It's called Getting Out the Vote (GOTV). You spend all the time leading up to an election identifying and persuading voters. Then you spend the day before and the day of the election getting these favorable voters to the polls.

+1 :)

I know from experience here in DC, the official campaign has been hostile to GOTV, refused to do it themselves, sabotaged the grassroots efforts we had been working on for months, and has substituted their flawed "precinct captain" approach instead. One of our volunteers here is not in that database (the former owners of the house is listed at his address).

They should be using the information from the grassroots identifying supporters and turning them out to vote. Instead we have control freak central planners succumbing to Hayek's fatal conceit thinking they know better than all of us combined with local knowledge. I don't think that HQ has even incorporated their own supporter database into their approach.

I did data requests from the DC Board of Elections and Ethics starting back at the beginning of the summer, laid out a plan that a group of volunteers had devised working together, and at the end of the day HQ tells everyone not to cooperate! The arrogance and incompetence of the official staffers astounds us.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to vote in the Michigan primary because I'll be back at college next week and to obtain an absentee ballot you have to have voted your first time in person. Well, I just registered to vote this fall because I just turned 18 so I really haven't had much of a chance to vote.

I'm going to go talk to my county clerk today to see if they'll let me get an absentee ballot!

koob,

You're kinda puuurty! Get one of your boyfriends to drive you. :D

Can I just get some clarification: is the poll results you are slapping over the entire eligible voter population a poll of all eligible voters on who they like/intend to vote for in the general election, or one of the usual polls that's polling likely primary voters on who they will vote for in the primaries? Cause if it's the latter the I'm afraid your method doesn't work and I will explain why if it is. This needs to be sorted out before anyone else starts getting depressed.

Can I, in some way, offer you some clarification, and sort things out for you.

I will employ one tried and true methodology, familiar to all, but the most ignorant...

Go fucking vote!

The media knows what we are in the process of finding out. America is fat, dumb, and lazy, they won't get off the couch, they won't lift a finger to change this country. They can spin, lie, cheat and steal and enough of the population is stupid enough so they can do it all over again and we won't lift a finger to stop them.
Instead of doing what Ron Paul is willing to do we can cut his support in 1/2 by just saying they will do the same. McCain on inflation ( example), he has never said a word about inflation until he got to NH and they wanted to hear it.

I am afraid America will get what it deserves and I should be preparing to move to belieze before TSHTF.

I'm doing everything I can but even that may fall short.

In the words of George Carlin:
They own you.

Very well said..

I doubt RP had much support in that evangelical brainwashed state of Iowa.
Hate to burst the bubble, but the rest of the planet is dismayed, to say the least.

We're especially looking forward to Armegeddon. Can't wait till the next chapter!

Unless I read the spreadsheet incorrectly, the turnout for all other candidates was 10%. We had 17%. We need to do much better to win, but this is about 70% or almost 3/4 better than turnout for the other candidates. Sure 17% sounds terrible but we need to keep things in perspective. If we did terrible, then how did the other candidates do?

If we can get this to just 25%, we'll start placing consistently in the top 3. If we get much higher, I can see us winning this thing but the emphasis has to be on getting current supporters out to vote.

EDIT: I just noticed this assumes that Paul's actual support was just 6% of the voting population. I thought we were more like 8 or 9%? If we were at 8%, then turnout was only 13% compared to 10% for the other candidates. If we were at 10%, then turnout was only 10% and no better than any other candidates. Its difficult to say if we did better than other candidates or not, it probably depends on which polling data you use.
