*ongoing* Romney FB likes crash as Ron Paul's steadily rises

During the month of April Rand has averaged 763 likes a day. So the trend has continued, the good news is Rand finally had a day with 1000+ likes (yesterday) and he's already surpassed 1,000 likes today. I'm not sure if the bump was due to the Howard speech or gun control because Rubio also saw a 1000+ like day yesterday (although it's doubtful he gets to 1000 today, he's only at 350 which looks to be what he usually gets).

We'll see if Rand is able to maintain the 1000+ like pace of the last 2 days or if he'll drop back down to the 700+ range.

Since I am lazy and facebook is not my best friend....heh... can you check his newest likes and/or friendship requests? I am curious did they come from Howard university or other black universities...

Rubio got about 1000 more likes than Rand the last 10 days.

Rand got about twice as many today as Rubio, but yeah I noticed that its almost exactly 1000 more likes for Rubio in past 7 days. Disappointing.
I find it very fun to watch these likes and I take a lot of pleasure in seeing Rand blowing away the competition.

Is there another republican, to anyone's knowledge (regardless of being a 2016 candidate or not), that rivals Rand's facebook influence? I mean in terms of growth. I know Ron, Romney, Ryan, etc. have a lot more likes but they're not consistently growing like Rands)

I think a lot of people just buy them now. From the way Romney's drops in cycling lumps, I'm pretty sure his campaign did, although I couldn't prove it. We knew Ron didn't because his went up with specific events, a debate, or whatever, and dipped to almost nothing if he was being trashed.

So you're saying that Time magazine most influential cover isn't misplaced ;)

Not that I found when I last looked at the numbers. Romney and Ryan have more likes overall, but they are still losing 1,000's a week each.

Huckabee has slightly more overall but he wasn't growing as quickly, and he even has a TV show on Fox to advertise on.

Sarah Palin has 3.5 million total but Rand has gained 3 times as many likes compared to her over the last month.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Romney bought likes. You can find a bunch of places to buy from online. I read a story about a guy that runs a service and he said it's used a lot by music artists to get a jump start so that they look popular.

I wouldn't want Rand to do that obviously but I do hope that he uses Facebook ads to help continue increasing his numbers.

being that so many people are "talking about this" (Facebook posts containing Rand) I'm 99.9% sure that his growth is organic, or at least mostly so.
I wouldn't even have a problem with him buying likes - goodness knows what a false surge can do for one's campaign! lol.

The Time Magazine cover is just honest and well deserved. Rand is definitely the fresh new face of the republican party. One could credibly argue that Rand has single handily controlled the GOP talking points and new pet issues. He was also the leading voice on the the most unifying stance the GOP has - 2nd amendment.
More than once he has been singled out by Obama attacks, McConnell has been following his lead, he is bridging the gap between the liberty movement and the tea party (which would be a strong GOP voter majority).

Its hard to make an argument that he isn't the most influential republican right now and one can easily see that if the momentum doesn't change he will continue to gain influence.

Pretty fun to watch. :)

I think someone told Rubio's crew the 'likes' race is on. He's gotten nearly 3,000 new likes today. Rand is still under 1000.

I haven't been paying attention much lately - Rubio done something to cause the SUURGE? Or do you think Rand is losing a few likes right now so its causing his overall number to not climb as fast?

I know a lot of "anti-droners" were "anti-gun" also ... I think its possible he's bleeding some soft support he got during the drone issue. (Which I'm fine with, anyone who thinks gun control is a good think won't end up voting for Rand anyway and it probably wouldn't have helped him much in the primary anyway)

Rubio is artificially being inflated by the party and the media as the Latino savior of the GOP. Rand Paul's popularity has been completely brought about on his own.

It'll be very interesting this next year to start examining the long term trends between the two.

Ruibo has been running FB ads. I have seen them a few times. Once was an image with "Stand With Rubio" but they got so much flack for using Rand's slogan they removed the post ha.

Metoobio works my last nerve. That stuffed shirt doesn't have an original thought in his neocon head.

LOL.
I've been off facebook for a while now - wish I could have seen one of those ads though! Would make a great screen shot to rub his face in later as being the boy on the coattails.

Rand averaged over 50k in this past month, he is almost at 900k so in 2-3 months, he'll be over 1MM with 2 years to go until he even announces. :D

Today: Rand literally (almost exactly at the time of posting) beating Rubio in likes 10 to 1.

We positive he's not buying these likes? I'm fine if he is. Just seems crazy that it is rising so quickly AND steadily. Gradual upward climb is one thing ... he's been on an unending skyrocket trajectory.

No it's organic. Pretty easy to tell. His posts are getting thousands of likes. My sister loves sharing them with the whole family!

I've seen quite a few of my neocon FB friends from high school liking Rand's page, especially during his drone filibuster. These are the same types of people who lambasted me months ago for bringing up the same subject, which makes me happy and disgusted at the same time. The sheeple are starting to like Rand because Faux news is covering him without the smears his father received for speaking of the same topics. Let's just hope they actually wake up and think for themselves before the election (doubtful). I want Rand to win, but I really want him to win because people are fed up and truly want their liberty, not just because he is the media's chosen candidate.
