Oh no she didn't! Bachmann co-opts Misesian Economics

Could Michele answer even the most fundamental Econ 1A question, after all of her reading? I'm calling "bullshit."

This is good over all. Yeah she's trying to steal Ron Paul's support, but remember this isn't about Ron Paul it is about changing the country. If politicians continue using Ron Paul's rhetoric people are going to learn more about the message, and washington will continue to gravitate our way. We just have to continue pulling.

I tend to disagree with this. Yes, initially people will learn a little about it, but not enough to stay on their toes. Politicians will simply use the right language to get elected and then do the other thing. That's how neo-cons gained control of the Republican party.

And if you think this is just one man's theory, ask an abortion-is-my-sole-issue voter for a second opinion.

I would love to see her on the beach with a kindle in her hand.

And as you think about this, what's in your hand?

Bachman is a friend of both RP and Judge Nap. I honestly think she would be the ideal VP to run with Paul.

I was actually surprised that Judge Nap didn't pick her apart when she appeared on his show, confirming that she voted to extend the Patriot Act. Who knows, maybe he does respect her? As far as her being the VP with Paul, boy that would be fantastic. Only problem is, if she keeps gaining momentum and MSM respect, she will want to take it on her own.

I'm sure the Judge is willing to compromise for the sake of compensation regarding the bailouts.

Well, she has been attending Dr. Paul's lunches.

Exactly this some of the less informed around here don't realize she is probably one of the most informed regarding monetary policy that actually has a chance of winning(other than Ron Paul).

The fact that she took the time to meet with Ron Paul over and over at a time when he was still considered frindge does say something at the very least.

Paul is only their all for some. Money is the bottom line for others. There is even greater understanding in this fact than what we can currently access with our limited resource base.

At the same time, Jim, it is totally inappropriate for you to come over here to RonPaulForums to pitch another candidate.

I seem to remember a couple years ago hearing that Ron put her on to LvM.

I'm all for it. The more of them (politicians) that at least understand his stuff the better!

Agreed. While I don't care for her foreign policy stands and she's too socially conservative for my tastes, the more that read things like Mises;the better; imho.

Here is an article that I found interesting.

Ron Paul’s economic theories winning GOP converts — including Michele Bachmann

I read Mises and Friedman before it was cool.

New Favorite Economist: Some obscure guy Bachman has never heard of.

I have no real issue with the message spreading in general, but I do not necessarily like it to spread through figureheads. Prior to this, the people who spoke of Mises in high regards were libertarian/limited government supporters. Now Austrian economics is going to be associated with tea party light, pro-Patriot Act and pro-war positions. Some may dismiss Mises now as "that guy Bachman likes? No thanks."

I don't care how the word gets out; only that it does. If she encourages people to read Mises, it's fantastic!!
