"OFFICIAL" Post your idea of how you would like to see Grassroots Central broken up.

I like it as is, one big clump of liberty. Freedom is supposed to be messy.

I like this section, Grassroots Central. I think that Grassroots projects - the point of Grassroots Central - should stay here.

However, yes, things are getting out of hand, and the word "bump" appears too often.

I suggest that you 1) develop an idea about how you want to proceed, yet not get wedded to it.

Determine what one thing on Grassroots Central both doesn't really belong on Grassroots Central, and is taking up a lot of space. I'm not sure I know what that is, but could it be "Ron Paul Analysis" which is a catch all phrase for the various random thoughts people have about Ron Paul.

I like it the way it is. Busy is good. Other forum sites move way faster than this one does and they don't have a problem. If anything it shows how motivated our campaign is.

no split please.

I'm new but my 2 cents...

I like it the way it is. My suggestion would be to add a section for media appearances and other videos, aka ToObz. Also combine news articles and polling in that section. I think that would help clean up this forum a lot.

Maybe combine it with Media Spin, so there aren't too many subforums yet it cleans up grassroots?

IM against splitting it up, its already split up enough imo... Th eonly thing that would be good is a thread or forum )wiht a thread here that links to it= with the grassroot chipins going on.

New posts is the answer..... other than debate nights, moneybomb days, elections days..... or other big events that lag the forum to where that feature gets disabled.

Subforums destroy the activity of the forum, so I object to this idea.

I agree, which is why I suggest maybe making media spin a more comprehensive just "media" section. No new subforums are added. Maybe add a prefix to designate hit pieces. One thing I don't like about grassroots is sometimes I have to go searching 3 or 4 pages back to find something I posted in just a few hours earlier. I do think it is a tad too busy.

I don't want it split up. I can get all my Paul news in one spot and know what is going on without jumping around. I prefer to keep it that way.

It is only busy in here during debates. And that is more about a server/user limit problem. Seems pointless to break apart otherwise.

We need 3-4 really easy to understand and use main forums for a bulk of the conversation. Then have whatever else you need for the power users. Maybe like this

Welcome - Learn about the forum and how to use it
Grassroots - Discussion and coordination, fundraising - speculations and predictions sub forum.
News and media - Sharing and discussion, including polls and debates.
Opposition - Opponents and Media spin in their own sub forums.(negative stuff is buried this way)
Campaign suggestions

I didn't read through this thread at all (besides the OP and I am mostly using his ideas but titling them differently for clarification), but here are my thoughts...

1) Grassroots Activism, Idea Discussion, and Personal Stories/Encounters/Etc.
2) Media (Videos/Audio) and News
3) Speculations and Predictions

I like that. I think Fundraising could be merged with grassroots, especially since grassroots would be less cluttered with just news/media. Honestly I hardly ever check that forum. Seems most of it ends up in Grassroots anyways as it is.

I think media spin has to be different, and not show up on the front page. often we WANT to advertise good stories, but not hit pieces.

Is it possible to set "New Posts" to show posts from only the selected sections of the forum I would like to show up there? If that is a possibility then I would be fine with it. I typically only check Grassroots, General, and Opposing Candidates.

These, please.

Changed it around, simpler.

I didnt read past the first page so pardon. I wouldnt mind it split into two different sections, a strictly enforced grassroots section where activism/campaigning related stuff goes and a section where everything else (news, poll data, etc) goes. I dont see the point in a speculation subforum though.
