There have been many debates on this forum regarding Naomi Wolf and her relationship to the Revolution and the climax of this issue has been realized:

In what I believe to be Lew Rockwell's longest interview he spends 50 minutes explaining the fundamentals of libertarianism to her and she is absolutely astounded. She is heard saying, "Wow, you are so right" over a dozen times throughout the interview.

I urge all of you to listen to the above interview and warmly welcome Naomi Wolf and her excellent work to the Revolution.

I'm going to chime in on this one. I too suspect Naomi may be breaking out of the left's fantasy world. It's hard for many of us to imagine an intelligent being able to swallow the lefty line, but my experience is that most of the smart folks I've known were like a fish out of water once outside their known stuff. I had a mechanical engineering professor that couldn't figure out the seat belt on his own car, but he was darn good at his specialty. Naomi may be similar.
I don't see it as having to swear allegiance to her, I know she's always acting like she is going to run things, which puts a little extra focus on the questions. I say we can wait and see what she DOES, or proposes, and if indeed it's helpful to our cause, why not help it along? I to am more than a little nauseated by anybody that could support Clinton, Obama, the democrat party, republican party, etc., but figure I'll give her a little time to do whatever she will, and make up my mind from there. I think it's not necessary to say good/bad at this point, just give her a little room and she may be an ally.

I hope she realized she has been very one sided in things. She is very good at pointing out problems with what Bush has done but really ignores absolutely everything bad democrats do and thinks getting Obama elected will change things. She was on the Alex Jones show last week and he kept pushing her about there being an 11th step of banning guns so you can't defend yourself. No matter how far he pushed she never would say we should be able to have guns. All she would do is say that she could understand our argument. Even when Alex was talking about the Nazis sending the Jews to death camps she couldn't bring herself to say people have the right to bear arms.

Murray Rothbard was always optimistic about bringing people over from the principled left as well.

We don't need to change their ideas about the goals and objectives they want to achieve, we just need to get them to question whether government, and the inherent use of force that it implies, is a moral or effective way of accomplishing it.

Fortunately, we have a lot of blatantly obvious corruption, corporatism, incompetence and conspiracy all becoming very obvious at this point and helping wake them up and begin questioning their implicit trust of government intervention.

It seems that she is continuing to learn and this is a great thing. Everyone must go through their own evolution of learning it there appears to be hope for her. :)

It is often supposed that liberals are easier to convert than conservatives. I would agree with that sentiment.

"a mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to it's original dimensions".

Oliver Wendell Holmes.

:D

Great interview. Right at the end she has a complete epiphany on the dept of education.

It is often supposed that liberals are easier to convert than conservatives. I would agree with that sentiment.

Conservatives that still identify with the Neo-Conservative Right are now harder to "convert" because they have had to CONSCIOUSLY and a WILLFULLY rationalize their abandonment of limited government principles, which makes them a tougher nut to crack because they would have to admit to themselves the ridiculous degree to which they have been deceived and that's hard for most people to do.

The Left, on the other hand, have been awakened to how horrible a government can become and have more reason to question that government is the answer.

I wouldn't be too optimistic, however, because once its "their guy" doing it, don't expect them to oppose any of it.

Naomi wolf is a dang komrade. Forget her. She calls that actress..can't recall her name, but I just read this today, every day whining that Obama might lose. just forget that witch. Tones

- A little premature, don' t ya think? She's learning. We've all been there. She's fighting the good fight from her point of view. She was raised to believe what she believes but I 100% applaud her interests in wanting to learn more. So many of us think we've got it all figured out and automatically shut people out and don't remain open to new perspectives. The fact that she's doing that speaks volumes for her character and integrity. Her stock just went through the roof for me personally. Even if she hears the libertarian message and decides it's not something she agrees with then I still applaud her for intellectually entertaining new ideas. Again, I applaud her. I wish there were many more women with her interest in the well being of the country eventhough we may disagree on the details. Good for her. I hope I marry a strong woman who isn't so set in her ways that she disregards opposing opinions like that one day.
