Official Final Debate Thread 2020

This whole thing where Biden looks at the camera and talks some bogus platitudes to the american people is so phony. Pure poison from a politician.

He is breaking the fourth wall. I just wanted him to do that once and just say "come on man" and then go back to the debate question.

On MSNBC stephanopolous claims trump made unverified and false claims about bidens family and his emails. Nothing yet on Biden's Children in cages yet.

It was making me sick to the point I had to shut it off. I know tomorrow, I will hear idiots regurgitating those same platitudes like trained sheep.

TV Pundits are already defending Biden Claiming he had the best debate.
They are ignoring Biden's slurs even the mention that he wants cut the oil and gas industrial jobs. Transition from the oil which was the same mistake that Hillary did.

Ya, it sucks having one guy who wants to have low taxes and keep the economy open and cut regulations on industries, and another guy who wants to raise taxes and shut the economy down and regulate the energy industry... oh wait..

I think Trump could have done a better job on the Coronavirus questions, but other than that he did a lot better than the first debate.

I was more worried about how he handled the health insurance question and the economy. People are worried about their finances first and foremost. It did not help that the moderator allowed Biden to go on and on for minutes on health insurance but cut off Trump each time he tried to rebut.

If anyone won the debate it was the moderator (which I always feel is a stupid question) She was effectively able to provide cover for Joe on Ukraine/China/Hunter and allow Joe to make a health care campaign advertisement. I hope one day she wakes up ashamed for having no journalistic integrity and being completely partisan.

Trump is doing better than Bush and Obama on forever wars policies but that metric alone shows incomplete picture and even slightly misleading.

Ending the Myth That Trump Is Ending the Wars

Think about it. Is it really? Just because people are going nutty about it doesn't mean that it's important or a big problem.

It is really but that is not the only important issue.
Look at the context in which that statement was made, when I said that there was heated argument about Abe Lincoln going on between current Prez of US and the guy who wants to take his job and Prez Trump was saying that the room is too dark (so he can't see what are the races/skin colors of people sitting in audience).

Overall this is just another reality TV show with little information value, real planned policies and drivers are rarely discussed.

I still can’t believe Trump got him to admit he’d
close oil.

And there are millions of people, so utterly ignorant of how anything works that agree.

And have no clue that were you to remove all petroleum products and energy from the global economy, roughly every other person on planet earth would be dead in the next three months or so.

And oil selling tyrants around the globe cheered at Biden's remarks.

Trump managed to get one pretty good (not great) zinger in during that moment where he mentioned giving money to struggling farmers through tariffs enacted on China. Joe responded by saying "Yeah, the taxpayers are paying for it!". Trump responded by saying "Sure, the taxpayer is China." He went on to explain that China devalued it's own currency to make it happen, which hurts them, not us.

Joe was losing it towards the end. At times he was yelling in the microphone, then gaffing words (he called the proud boys the poor boys), calling Trump Abraham Lincoln, and towards the very end his voice was going soft because of all the yelling he was doing earlier.

Why won’t the press report this? US Military casualties in the war in Afghanistan:

Bush: 630
Obama: 1758
Trump: 63

In theory, dropping many more MOABs or a nuke from air would have saved even more lives.
Would Massie start praising Obama if all he had done was launched drone attacks from air and thus saved many lives?

Trump is better than Bush and Obama on wars but he's also set new records in MIC spending and increased US troops in mideast. Why would he do that unless (his funding leaders') goal is to increase global interventions?
Bush's record is from era when 70-80% public supported that war; Trump's record is from a time when majority saw that war as a mistake.

US dropped record number of bombs on Afghanistan last year
Warplanes dropped 7,423 bombs and other munitions, the most since Pentagon began keeping track in 2006

Trump was much more measured than last time, that was probably good for him. The big takeaways of the night are that Trump got Biden to admit he wants to get rid of oil, forced him to dig himself a deeper hole by denying the corruption in the emails, and called him out relentlessly for being a politician.

This debate won't have swung any decided voters, but it probably cost Biden big in swing states, helped get a bunch of the Biden fence sitters to probably sit this one out, and made things worse for Biden as more evidence comes out every day between now and the election.

Also with Biden up against Trump, he just looks weak and pathetic. Not at all like a leader. That must have some impact.
