**OFFICIAL** BASEBALL THREAD

I dunno.... Hawk Harrelson (sp?) of the White Sox is the absolute worst. Even just hearing his voice on recap footage on the MLB network is enough to make me want to punch my tv screen... if i never heard another "streeeeetch.... streeeeeeetch... you can it on the board.. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees" I would be a happy man. I would also add that while I am an obvious O's fanatic... Mike Bordick has no business in the broadcast booth.

I'll take your word for it. So that would make the Cinci guy third worst.

I'm watching the Tigers / Cubs game with the Tiger announcers. Dude for the Tigers is calling every play. I didn't realize how good he was until watching the Cinci game and listening to their guys.

Now if only the Tigers would live up to their announcers example....

Matt Cain throws a perfect game!

He ties the all time record with Sandy Koufax for perfect game with 14 strikeouts.

Give them aluminum bats and slow pitch them golfballs. Boobus would love it.

imagine how big the parks would have to be. call me Boobus, but i'd watch that. It wouldn't be baseball, but it would be a fun sideshow like during the All Star break.

I feel pretty good about it , I am an AL guy and my Team is .500 and only five games out of a playoff spot , great pitching , if they ever score any runs , they will make it , maybe ;) ....

How have I never seen this thread before?

Braves fan here! As it sits right now, we are 2.5 back of the Nationals and I'm optimistic! Of the 59 games we have left, 44 are against teams below .500. Combine that with the fact that the Nats are entering uncharted territory and Strasburg is set to be shut down in September, and I like our chances!

I'd really like to Chipper go out on a high note.

I think Pence was a good addition, but look out for your rivals to the South!

Pence is an awesome addition. I wanted us to get him last year. If Lincecum can keep pitching like he did last night I think we will hold off LA.
I've always been a bit of a Braves fan too because I used to watch them all the time with my uncle when I was little and they're his favorite team. I'm glad they got that manager, the Marlins never should've fired him.

I think y'all can too; I sure do hope so anyway...I don't care for the over-hyped Dodgers. Maybe we can see each other in October; we owe ya one!

I don't know what happened to Timmy this season - probably the lack of herb keeping him from his normal self. Someone get that man a pipe! He did pitch a good one last night though, so maybe he's on the way back.
