Official 11.11.11 Planning Thread - 17,000 Pledges - Decentralize Facebook Promotion

Maybe. It might help that the fake tea party is pretty demoralized now that Palin is out, Perry fizzled and Cain is imploding.

I do still think it might be better to switch to pushing the campaign's pledge site. Even though in theory having an email list is a good thing, in practice it isn't much help. For one thing, the campaign has the ultimate email list and they're actively promoting the moneybombs, unlike last campaign. Clearly getting people to pledge is extremely difficult and possibly not a good use of our time and effort. It's so much simpler to set up sites on facebook.

We still have a week. Maybe we should refocus our efforts to getting lots of events going on facebook and promoting the RP pledge site.

What is needed is to take a lot of Facebook events and cycle them on the website while a script captures all attendees from all the events and puts up a total.
It's too difficult to get anything done on that site. We only have a week. Why not go all out on facebook. Let's strategize.

Here's something I've been working on with help from FBappDev, who really knows what he's doing on FB.

Notice that 53 people have already liked the page, meaning that they want to help promote moneybombs. I was thinking that we'd have a place on fb to organize people that aren't on the forum, but are RP supporters. It still needs work, but maybe we could get it going and do a blitz on fb for the last week and day of themoneybomb, coordinated with what we're doing here on RPF.

ronpaul2012.com has added a page, an interface, to DONATE to the 11-11-11 MoneyBomb ... should we modify fb and other strategies to drive directly to and use the media displayed on the ronpaul2012 Veterans Day MoneyBomb page ?

That's the way I'm leaning. Why struggle getting people to pledge at this point in the game when we can use fb to gather people up and push to the campaign site on 11-11?

I was going to say we shouldn't because we could use the email list at SupportThemNow.com to advertise the Tea Party Money Bomb much earlier than the campaign would, but now that I think of it the Black This Out email list hasn't even been used effectively to get this thing going. I imagine people would find it easier to offer up their email address to the campaign website than a random money bomb website, though the campaign's money bomb page looks horrible in my opinion.

Yeah, we don't seem to be very good at managing an email list anyway, considering how the BTO list hasn't been deployed, what's up with that? I can imagine this one being hard to use as well, considering it's a feedburner list and BTOs is a mailchimp list, just more confusion.

Who exactly has the BTO list? How are we supposed to use it? And what about this supportthemnow list? How do we have access to it? I've wanted to send out daily updates like Trevor used to do, but how exactly can we do that? Maybe it's just as well to forget about email lists and let the campaign do the emailing. We can build lists on fb instead.

Sentinelrv : Thank you for your rapid development of media for the 11-11-11 MoneyBomb. You have provided me and others with a powerful kickoff and focus for this MB. I stand ready to do what needs to be done. Photoshop is open on my machines and ready for any developments that occur.

The national campaign at ronpaul2012.com is becoming more responsive to roots even as they may attempt to distance themselves from the more granular and cellular operations of roots so this is a big achievement as a result of the work on this MB.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to really show them how important we will be in all aspects of the longer campaign.

WD-NY is managing the list, but I don't know if Dusman has access to it either. Try contacting them.

There should be some sort of central access so that whoever is running the moneybomb, like you, has access to ALL the tools necessary to coordinate whatever action needs to be taken. Can that be done? Some sort of Moneybomb Central with maybe 3-4 admins who are trusted with access so we don't have to guess and chase people around?

WD-NY, dusman can this be done?

This graphic is now available as a series of 5 images which can be tagged into your personal profile banner space on fb as well as into the tagged-photo's sections of Community Pages. If you are really sneaky, tag your friends with the banner.

It functions as a gateway when people click on any piece of the banner, whether it is being propagated by a news feed, or if they see it on a person's WALL or INFO page, or anywhere. It is a gateway to the ronpaul2012.com donation page.

Should the grassroots state pages create a facebook event for each state? And use them to spread the decentralize message to each city w/in them?
seems like the way to go?

I don't think a page can create an event, unfortunately.

EDIT: Wait, you can make an event! Here's how:
How do I create a new event through my Facebook Page?

You can create new events from the Events tab on your page. If you don't see an Events tab, go to the Events app itself:
  1. Click the Edit Page button at the top right corner of your page.
  2. From the left column menu select Apps.
  3. Under Events, click Go to App.

Created 2 variations on this awesome ad:

I do actually like the original much better (thank you to whomever made it!) , but needed a wider version for the newspaper website we're trying to get it to run on.
