Start a business and not tell the government anything about your business, they then think you are unemployed and thus are exempt. There is no witholding as you are the business owner.

Um, unless you avoid reporting all your income to the IRS -- which will likely land you in jail -- running a legitimate, otherwise-law-abiding business under the radar from the government is virtually impossible.

Hardly, otherwise there wouldn't be such a big underground economy as there is in every country.

So how does this Obamanation care effect churches and religion?...oh wait, that sounded like Romney's health care with the Mormons.

You can always accept payment in gold or silver. You can also barter if your customers have some good or service you need. That's all perfectly legal. The only time things become illegal is when green pieces of paper are exchanging hands. But there will be a huge increase in that as well because people simply can't participate in the non-black (white?) market when the government makes it impossible to do so. The black market will see a huge rise in participants just as it did throughout communist countries.

Over 65 million Americans do not file each year. Only 2,100 or so are convicted per year for evasion or non-filing. Running an online business can help in not having to fork over tax paperwork.

Wise up.

Nobody in law enforcement or the judiciary in this country gives a flying shit through a rolling donut whether things are legal or illegal.
The only thing they care about is whether they can get a conviction.

Using things other than green pictures of dead presidents has a long and established history of landing people in trouble.
When Bernard Von Nothaus stood trial, the judge called him a terrorist.

You can't "always accept" anything but federal reserve notes. And we're quickly getting to the point where cash isn't even valid, and everyone is going to be expected to leave a paper trail for everything.

Wrong. The IRS decades ago established rules for how barter transactions are to be reported and taxed.

I'm not saying people don't barter without reporting it all the time, and I'm not saying there isn't a huge underground economy.

All I'm saying is if you're doing business with the general public and participating with the rest of the legitimate business community, it's kinda hard to not be noticed by the government. The Obamacare penalties are ridiculous but they're not worth deciding "well, I was going to run a legal business but now I'll go black market instead."

How about "Going Galt"? I'm thinking of just getting a menial under the table job and I'll get a waiver since I have no income and I'd be below the poverty threshold.

If a person is going to do private business, online is the very LAST place to conduct it.

Face to face, no phones, no faxes and especially no computer records.

Avoid checks and credit cards unless you want to be accountable for the entire transaction..

You won't get a waiver. You'll get medicare starting in 2014. You'll have the choice to either take the medicare handout or pay the fine.

I'm in this position right now. Low income/self employed/no insurance. Jan 1st 2014 I get to chose between welfare and a fine. I'd rather just be left alone. I'm healthy and live well.

This +rep!

Ya'll better get it through your heads, the surveillance state is everywhere and expanding at light speed.

Everything is being watched, and watched more closely every day that goes by.

Running, dodging, weaving, "Going Galt", moving out, "ex-pat-ing", black marketing, "off the grid-ing" are not going to help you.

You will have two choices:

Comply or resist.

Choose, now.

OR, get a cheap offshore mailing address, use prepaid tracfones or Skype for phone contact, anonymousspeech.com for emails, and where possible, use pseudonyms in your online account profiles (which provide working anonymity). On online account applications for money earning programs, reference your offshore address, so the form doesn't force you to fill in a SSN number in order to be completed. Checks will go to the maildrop address, and then are forwarded to you.

This separates the earnings from being tracked by the 'slave number' from the outset. If they instead go to a Paypal account under a pseudonym name, they may not be tracked by where the money goes either. Online or off, avoiding the IRS tyranny grid is mainly a matter of separating where your earnings come from or get stored to, from the slave number. You'll then be better able to RESIST and fight tyranny, if they can't shut down your financial resources with a quick computer check, or flick of a "oh, there they are" switch.

Gosh I hope every single person in this thread takes their own advice... and reports the results back to us if they can :D

Wow, why didn't I think of that.

they think IRS and legislators are stupid, they think they can put money in a bank without ever being known, or live under the $10,000 attention line, or take cash all their life with not one person speaking up, more power to them.

goes to show how naive some people are when it comes to tax evasion :)

not to mention the lack of credibility and repeat business reputation you lose when you can't be tracked, there's no way to hide from the IRS but not at the same time hide from customers for quality assurance, this is why shady businesses get away with taxes, but also have hard time winning new business.
