Obamacare is easy to evade

Um, unless you avoid reporting all your income to the IRS -- which will likely land you in jail -- running a legitimate, otherwise-law-abiding business under the radar from the government is virtually impossible.

that's exactly what it sounds like, somebody thinks he just thought up a smart way to evade taxes that none of us ever foresaw, man the IRS is full of idiots, don't they know people can do it so easily?

Start a business and not tell the government anything about your business, they then think you are unemployed and thus are exempt. There is no witholding as you are the business owner.

Although this sounds fun in principle, playing hide and seek with the IRS is generally not recommended.

Although the government is full of idiots, IRS workers, accountants, etc, are not idiots. They are mercenaries hired by the political class to prey on the population. Like everything else, the only competent work done in the name of the government is done by contractors, mercenaries, and other hired-on workers. If the government had to actually do things itself, nothing would happen.

I did it for 15 years, and it ain't.

If you plan on never owning anything or never leaving the country, maybe you could get away with it for a little while longer.

No one suggests its fun to fight the tyrants, only that it's needed, to order to fight the tyrants. One either is fighting them, or just talking about it--and some pain WILL be involved, so just pick up your liberty cross and keep moving. You've fought for 15 years (me 12 and counting), but you want to pick your battle differently, I respect that. There are a lot more techniques and tools available to store money that covers banks and so forth, I just wanted to lay the groundwork to show folks the option is available and workable. It's not illegal, it's fighting fraud, and without enough folks actively resisting, there will be no victory.

P.S.: Those seeking more info and guidance on pursuing tax honesty are encouraged to review materials at SEDM.org.

Why not start an insurance company that has a $1 per year plan that on promises to pray for you or douse you in homepathic cures.

Then you have health insurance.

Seems a lot easier.

Sometimes I give off the wrong vibes.

I encourage it, I hope more people do it.

Just know what you're getting into.

its not illegal? So let's hear the story. What kind of work do you do and how much taxes have you saved over the past 12 years? What have you done with it? What's not fun about it if it's not illegal?

I often wondered the same thing, are there regulations on what is necessary to operate a healthcare company? Why are there no libertarian alternatives? Doesn't Lew Rockwell or Peter Thiel know of a way to exploit the new law for profit, and use the profit for good?

The idea here is to fight injustice, not merely play cute parlor tricks to skirt around the injustice. If you never attack injustice it will more than likely never go away. Moreover, many people have strong moral convictions against the notion 'ends justify the means', and beyond that you cannot do good through evil means. Also, the Government is not known to abide by their own rules they set for themselves, so what makes you think they won't go after people who do this no matter what the 'law' says?

Anyways, the OP is right...it is easy, you simply don't comply, but the hard part is having the courage of your convictions to face the consequences. Rubber meets the road and so forth. I contend this is the phase that many people in this movement simply are not ready yet to act upon. A lot of people will throw some money around, or talk, those are easy and have none to very little consequences - hence we see very little reward from these things. Don't get me wrong talking and education is deeply important, but talking alone simply won't accomplish anything, it must be accompanied by action. Time to stop thinking voting or politicians will solve the ills of the State and society. It is up to each of us as individuals to become what we talk about - free individuals acting autonomously by libertarian principles and morals.

This +rep!

Ya'll better get it through your heads, the surveillance state is everywhere and expanding at light speed.

Everything is being watched, and watched more closely every day that goes by.

Running, dodging, weaving, "Going Galt", moving out, "ex-pat-ing", black marketing, "off the grid-ing" are not going to help you.

You will have two choices:

Comply or resist.

Choose, now.

Going Galt

Expression for undergoing a voluntary financial strike or decrease in income. An individual might choose to do this in order to protest the amount of money going to the government, or to protest what they feel are unfair taxes (if they earn less, they will be taxed less, therefore hurting the government). The term is taken from a character in Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged"; the main character John Galt leads a movement where the wealthiest individuals leave their jobs for low-paying jobs in order to protest the socialist economy.

Is that not resisting?

they think IRS and legislators are stupid, they think they can put money in a bank without ever being known, or live under the $10,000 attention line, or take cash all their life with not one person speaking up, more power to them.

I detect an air of disdain in your post.

You put a lot of faith in just another incompetent government bureacracy. The IRS relies almost entirely on electronic records matching now. The people they hire are for only a few things: IT to manage the electronics, collectors to field and make phone calls, highly paid "executives" that carry out orders, and tax attorneys (Bachmann) to collect in court when necessary. These people aren't rocket scientists and as much as they like to think they are masters of the universe, they are not. I can't trash one federal agency as inept (say DoD) and then think another is all-knowing. The topics you raise are easily avoidable.

Nice intel gathering attempt. I wholly suspect P&F won't respond to your post. You're trolling this forum.
