ObamaCare Failing to Attract Much-Needed Young People

At Thanksgiving I saw some distant relatives and one of them was a woman in her early twenties. She loves Obamacare...because she has a preexisting condition and couldn't get insurance. This makes me think that while they may get a certain amount of young people, they'll probably be on the sicker side and we'll never know until the program is so far deep in debt.

This will be early death of the program. It would have died anyway for failure to control the cause of rising costs, but this will be much faster. The people who are going to be a net loss for the system will pour in while the net gain folks will stay away. That turns the entire fiscal model (which was crap to begin with) on its head.

Based on the general push back Americans have for this sort of Tyranny, it will only mean an expedited Single Payer system.

It's one thing I don't understand: I hear a lot of people saying the program will fail but that doesn't stop the govt from continuing. They have unlimited resources.

What does failure look like? In my lifetime, I've seen them just keep throwing more money at the problem. What am I missing?

What am I missing?

the vast accumulation of capital/investment that occurred in the US before this kind of stuff started happening on a constant basis. as a country, we've just been basically living high off investments and hard work made by our forefathers. those 'savings' only last so long before they dry up.

What if you started a Ponzi scheme and no one showed up?

Failure can take on two forms: The law can get repealed. Or all the Democrats in the Senate can lose their seats in 2014. After which the law will get repealed.

Either way, We, the People win. And so long as they make it so expensive that no one who has no preexisting condition will sign up, and all will do the $95 fine instead, there's no way it breaks even--in spite of the enormous costs...
