I was talking to a customer yesterday (a reluctant McCain voter) who was floored to learn from me that SCOTUS was having a conference today concerning O's citizenship, without a peep from the media.

Recognizing a teachable moment, I used it to talk about how virtually all media is owned by a handful of companies and how they fit into 'a sort of shadow government', and urged her to read Ron's book.

Pravda?......PRAVDA?

do you think people are embarrassed that Pravda reported it before most of our outlets did? they should be - Pravda used to be the mouthpiece of the Soviet Union, at that time shamelessly lying and not reporting the truth!

glad that you got a teaching moment and took advantage of it.

I think it's only getting coverage now because it's too late for the public to gather any momentum on it and they can now say they did report on it.... (just too late!)

Sort of llike when ABC let Ron Paul on to This Week .. during holiday vacation when no one was watching to speak of. They could say that they had him on.

the local news here did a very short, less than 1 minute report on it. The news anchor look like he was suffering from constipation

Problem with this is it will be viewed as just one more (final?) reason to ignore the U.S. Constitution.

Then the Gubenator will be next in line to try to qualify for POTUS in 2012 and sometime before 2019, he will want to "terminate" the two-term POTUS limitation rules. I'd go back in time to fix all this, but I just can't stand the thought of going out in public naked.

One of my local newspapers ran a front page story about the Berg case several months ago.

The story was aired on NBC's morning show this morning with a final comment from some no-name person saying " The supreme court wont even touch this, the American people spoke by electing him" (may not be exact its what I remember from about an hour ago).
I clapped a little when they actually acknowledged that there is a supreme court hearing on this today. Then died a little inside when i realized that, that no-namer is probably right.

 The American people could have elected one of the Spice Girls, but that doesn't mean they would be eliglbe to be president according to the constitution.

Mr. Obama's Eligibility to be Aired Monday at the National Press Club

On Monday, December 8, 2008, at 1:30 pm, the We The People Foundation will conduct a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.

The licensed attorneys who initiated lawsuits in PA (Philip Berg), NJ (Leo Donofrio) and CA (Orly Taitz), challenging Mr. Obama's legal eligibility to hold the Office of President of the United States, will briefly summarize the facts, legal arguments and status of their cases. They will answer questions from the press.

Prior to the start of the conference, at 10 am, the Supreme Court of the United States is expected to announce whether it will consider applications from these attorneys who have asked the Court to delay the proceedings of the Electoral College pending a determination of the underlying constitutional question - the meaning of the "natural born citizen" clause of Article II of the Constitution and its application to Mr. Obama.

Just do it for the Republic!

This morning, on CNN's American Morning, they finally mentioned this story. Are you sure you weren't listening to CNN? I wasn't exactly looking at the TV when they said it, but I heard them say that exact same thing about the SC not wanting to overturn what the voters had decided. The problem is, the voters probably didn't know his citizenship status at the time of the voting.

This morning, while driving in to work, I also heard a radio talk show mention this as well; from San Diego, KFMB 760 AM, by Rick Roberts.

The first place I've heard this mentioned was yesterday, Thursday, Dec. 4th, on KABC 790 AM, by Larry Elder.

From the kabc website, they printed this:

"The Obama campaign maintains that he was born in Hawaii, has an authentic birth certificate, and is a natural-born U.S. citizen."

Correct me if I'm wrong..but the N.J case involves his father. The one that matters as far as having an impact is the PA case which questions his outright birthplace. It's still not clear if this one isn't tinfoil crap.

It's good they're having this press conference. That way we get to hear the details about the filings, which the media isn't really telling us. This way, the whole thing can be explained, and be recorded. It will also show, and question whether the judges will hear arguments or just ignore to them. This will definitely put the spotlight on the SCOTUS.

Some of the people pissed off about this say, "if it had any merit, we would've heard about it BEFORE the election." Which is a good point. I see that Berg filed sometime ago, but I only heard about this here later. Lack of reporting was probably due to the media's love fest with Obama.

ARGH this pisses me off!

IT IS THE DUTY OF THE COURT TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION NOT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE!

Very good point!!! This should be mentioned at the news conference on Monday as well!! This type of thinking is how the SC gets out of making the hard decisions they need to. Instead, they should take it on to help clarify the Constitution, and make recommendations for amendments to the Congress, and the people.

Yes, but like all human systems they are influenced by threats and bribes. Words on a piece of paper written over 200 years ago mean very little to people threatened to be murdered if they do not comply.
