Needs? Maybe, maybe not. Please elaborate. I see nothing wrong with it, to be sure, but what about parents who are religiously scrupulous of such teaching? Are you implying they have no say in the matter?
I will refine my statement a little for you. Sex as it applies to propagation of species needs to be taught in some way since it ties into a good bit of other things within science. How chromosomes interact to form a new animal and so on. Now of course they would have a say in the particular way the more personal details are explained(Sex as it applies physically to the student and std and so on.) Now that part should be opt out able and if anything else needs to be refined the parents have an outlet through electing school board members. OR parents can home school.
