NRSC pulls down Kentucky ad

The Dem is full of it in that article.

If the race was tightening by that much the NRSC would be spending MORE money, not less. This shows me that they believe Rand's lead is solid.

Having the exact people independents (and we) don't like effusively singing his praises could easily have been machivellian to hurt him or at least make him dependent on their support as their opponents scattered.... once voters ignored 'establishment' gop in Delaware and Alaska and became dangerous the GOP might have only wanted to 'support' tea party candidates in name. However, I also think they like the idea of Rand winning BIG and spurring on voters to the west. They may have decided he is going to win, but their ads aren't helping to push him win 'big' so they'll move on.

Or it could be exactly what they say it is. I'm just speculating.

But I still say it points to the fact that some here who thought and were telling others that 'Rand has it in the bag we can focus elsewhere, and let the outside groups take if from here' were premature at best.

The kid is wrong.

Them not spending money on ads means they think he has it in the bag for now.

Sophomoric analysis from The Atlantic.

Actually if I were betting I think the NRSC probably pulled the ads to retest their polling here, for message purposes, and then will come back up on Friday. I think everyone can agree that their ads haven't moved the race more towards Rand's favor thus far (not that they have helped Conway) so instead of spending money just to spend it they are probably going to re-target their message. Seems rational to me.

According to the genius who wrote this article....the DSCC hasn't spent a dime yet on Conway: does that mean they've already written him off?

You don't pull ads whilst still leading unless you think you've got the race won. Not very politically astute writing there. I think the author wrote more his own wishful thinking instead of reality.

Yeah that is American Crossroads. I like that ad, except 95% of Kentuckians have no clue who Barbara Boxer is, i wish they had just left her out.

I assure you that the vast majority of voters in Kentucky know Barbara Boxer. Her name is often tossed about by lay folk and talk radio with the likes of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, etc. as the leading liberals destroying America (their words not mine). Most Kentuckians are not fans of Barbara Boxer - not by a long shot
