Now Peter Schiff Named Economic Advisor to Ron Paul 2008

For those who don't know, Schiff's father is one day (soon) going to be viewed as a Gandhi-level American hero for his anti-tax work. He's currently rotting in prison in New York State for the "crime" of not paying the unconstitutional income tax. This is his third or fourth stint in jail.

I'm not kidding about the Gandhi-level thing. Once the corruption has been cleansed from the body politic, Irwin Schiff's name will be high on my patriot list. Hopefully the state won't have prison-murdered him by then.

What?! Why are they switching this around after one day? I realize some of you know more about this guy than I and say he's better than Luskin...but did they just snub him suddenly for Schiff?

You can have more than one advisor.

Gotta Catch 'em ALL!

If the bottom falls out of the economy guess who is going to have *all* the economon!

wow. we should write him a letter of encouragement in prison :)

The father of one of your economic advisers in prison for tax fraud...

I sure hope Ron knows what he's doing here. Isn't this ammo for other candidates to use against him?

His father was a tax protester - BIG difference!! His father exercised civil disobedience (which Dr. Paul encourages) and took his case to court and they railroaded him.

I'd like to see them try. Both Schiffs are extremely well respected -- Peter appears regularly on Fox News (for what that's worth), CNN, CNBC, etc. He recently had an op-ed in the NY Times.

How much salary are they drawing? Why not just let them endorse RP and be done with it? Why are they "advising" Dr. Paul? Makes no sense to me.

I hope they are "advising" for free we can't afford any more outrageous salaries. We already are paying too many people outrageous amounts for what I'm not sure. Then they skimp on the quality of the tv ads and spends tons on the air time to air substandard ads. Now which of the high paid staff came up with that bright idea?

All campaigns build a set of advisors as the process moves along. This shows that Dr. Paul is getting serious about winning this thing. He's now got two of the strongest real-world economists backing his vision of what needs to be done to salvage the economy. These are two men that LOTS of people listen to. Now those people know that not only do these guys support the good doctor, they are going to be there to assist him with a hugely difficult task. If Ron Paul were already accepted as a "main-stream" candidate, this would be lauded everywhere, and would probably cause a jump in the market.

Kudlow will fire his pal Luskin now

No more Don on cnbc, lol. He will be blacked out like we are.

I'm glad to see that he has been added as an asset to the campaign. This I think will play well for Ron. Two power house economists who are often on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, et al.
