No One But Paul - February 10th Moneybomb - NoOneButPaul.com & NoneButPaul.com

Encourage people to donate even if it is just 1 dollar to be counted as those who will not vote for any other candidate.

I'm ok if people have other opinions but as far as the goal goes. I was under the impression that the $10M total that the campaign wanted by the 18th has the $6M and $1.5M from previous moneybombs counting towards it...does anyone know if that is the case or if only the $1.5 counts towards it? Also, it's good to have to reach a bit but it's demoralizing to come up seriously short. Also, as evidenced by the Road to SC moneybomb, the campaign said their goal was $1M to the media and put up a $3M ticker and the media reported that they exceeded their goal. I think saying we want $10 million is too ambitious and will likely make whatever we raise feel like a fail. I think $3-$5 million is a much better goal...then the campaign can put up a ticker for whatever they feel will contain overflow.

Also, I STRONGLY disagree with making people pledge to donate $100. On the last moneybomb where a $100 pledge was asked for I didn't pledge. It should be like Tea Party and November 5th from 07' and people should be asked to pledge to donate, not pledge to donate a specific amount. If you really think there needs to be an amount make it an "at least $1" or something so low pretty much anyone with a credit card or paypal who supports Paul can participate. I know that on those pledge to donate things I ended up giving more than I had planned because I was excited and being forced to say I will pay more than I can so I can feel like a participant is not cool.

Is it possible to take out the Reagan part? Will be a huge turnoff for many that would otherwise listen to what Ron has to say about stuff.

It just seems unnecessary. I mean, Reagan massively increased the size of government. Doesn't fit the theme of addressing issues, either. Since when is supporting Reagan something on the level of standing up for civil liberties, sound money, and a sane foreign policy? It's awfully trite in comparison.

quick design suggestion

One way to get all of the No One But Paul ... ideas in a single website without excessive clutter --- and encourage people to read them all --- is to use the rotating-banner shtick. If anyone remembers the thisismynext tech blog (precursor to The Verge), that site used it:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fa/This-Is-My-Next-Logo.png
(the orange part is where the different gadget types rotated in)

I don't know if the .gif for the moneybomb website would be prohibitively large, what with all the verbiage involved, but if not, I think it could work well to have all of Ron's key positions rotating in and out of the site header.

I don't know the people doing the development, but anyone who's competent will create the rotating banner in the header with jQuery.

Should elaborate "nobp....will get my vote" into:

"nobp....will get my vote in the primaries"
"nobp....will get my vote in the general election"

A little long but will sound like an ultimatum to other Republicans., rather than just candidate promotion.

This may be the dumbest Money Bomb ever... yeah I said it! Good Luck with your "arrogance bomb"

What does that even mean to the person on the fence thinking of voting or donating to Paul?

The argument is over... we need to just focus our energy into promoting this one instead of wishing we had the other one. We are at a critical stage and we can't afford to get hung up on stuff like this anymore.

I still think this theme would have been more appropriate AFTER "Bailout for Freedom."

But, no more time for that.

And listing the points "No one but Paul..." has me thinking this may turn out decent enough.

Me too. I think this concept (hat tip Mckarnin) brings the message home, and turns it from a poke in the eye to an educational theme.

Any chance we can get NO ONE BUT PAUL t-shirts?...short notice i know, but these might sell later down the road. Just a thought.

I was actually thinking we should have a design your own No One But Paul t-shirt contest...people can use permanent markers or fabric paint or make a graphic file. Would need prizes though. I will rummage and see if I have any good Ron Paul stuff still around. Perhaps I will start a thread and then see if anyone volunteers prizes to add to whatever I come up with. :)

And now we have one..No One but Paul T-Shirt Design Contest.

Fix the logo at the bottom to say "No One But Paul". If it doesn't fit, make it. "None But Paul" is weird.

I agree, you should stop.

No need to be brusque. Bailout for Freedom was the consensus a week ago and several of us bought the domain, hosted it and got web design going. Jordan was away from RPF for a few days and pretty suprised that when he returned the forum had moved on to a different concept.
