NHL PLAYOFFS 2013!!!

They are definately playing well as a team.

Malkin 2 points and Crosby got another.

Pens win the next two games to win it in 6 is my call.

Leafs-Bruins tonight...I think they go back to Boston 2-2...Boston probably takes the series in the end :-(. Hope not though :-).

anddddd the Islanders even the series 2-2.

Hawks-Pens final for one of the best finals in a long time!

Not that I care for either of those 2 teams, but man are they ever good :P

SPOILER ALERT: The blackhawks are going to win, and the CPD are going to run over peaceful revelers with atvs... again.

3-3 tie in the Boston-Toronto game going into OVERTIME.

Young legs vs experience. Great playoff matchup to watch.

If the Leafs survive the first 2 minutes of this OT, they will win. This young team struggles early in periods and late in periods and tend to dominate the middle of periods.

I'm thinking the Pens come out with an "enough's enough" attitude and take the heart out of the Islanders tonight. I don't know if it's just wishful thinking, but it feels like they know they're better than this.

Pens up 4-0.

Crosby 2 pts

Letang - 2 pts

Malkin - 1 pt

Letang will make Team Canada for the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Guys a stud.

**4-0 Final**

Further to your point CaptUSA - I think the Pens take game 6. Probably a closer game than a 4 goal spread...but 2 + an EN goal sort of deal.

Krejci is the man pacing Crosby/Malkin for the point lead.

Ugh..I trulely dislike the Bruins...

Also failed to mention Iginla who is near the top of the scoring race.

Jeez, this team is good.

Bruins/Pens East Final.

Lights out for the young and surpising Canadiens.

Stopped by the better team.

Sens are very good - to think, Spezza, their top forward is still out and has been all year.

I've got some some East coast bias but the West is looking pretty Migthy.

The Hawks look like the best team in the league. Kings. Pens. Bruins. Ducks. Sharks. Caps. Sens. In that order.

The West has the edge overall in my opinion.

Speaking of hockey, guess which state college hockey coach makes around $300,000 a year?

Final thought of the evening.

The STL/LAK series is high tempo nose grinding team hockey at it's finest.

Probably the best series so far.

Two teams dedicated to outstanding team defence with enough high end offensive talent to put the lights out against most teams.

Anze Kopitar/Mike Richards as your top 2 Centers is a highly coveted level of proficiency high in your line up at the most important position in the game. Jeff Carter who leads their team in goals also often plays center (better suited on the wing though...).

Doughty and Quick and you have a team dangerous in the playoffs any time they are in.

I think Quick will be the starter in Sochi for the 2014 Olymics for the Americans. Miller will be backup. Anderson (Ottawa) will be the third.

For St-Louis, Pietrangelo will make Team Canada in 2014. As will Kings dman Doughty.

I always get tickets for Flyers games but just give them away. Not much of a hockey fan. One of the boys I coach in the summer is a hockey player. Every time he steps in the box to swing at a pitch the damn kid tries to slapshot the ball. There's no fixing it. Is a hoot to watch, really.

I'm glad Tavares got a nomination for MVP.

The award is most valuable player but it never goes to the MVP, it always goes to the most outstanding player.

The MVP is absolutely Tavares between he, Ovechkin and Crosby (the 3 nominees)...but he is behind those 2 for most outstanding....Ovie will win based on the goal scoring championship and more games played than Crosby. Crosby was the run-away winner until his injury.

Islanders are going to force a game 7.

On a side note - either Crosby or Ovechkin should have been left off the ballot in favor of Toews...Makes no sense that the best player on the best team is not on. Toews has been a beast on the best team in the league.
