Nothing in today's politics surprises me anymore. However, it was mentioned that this poll was mostly party insiders right? I think what it shows is that Obamacare/Romneycare/socialised medicine is actually a-ok with the Republican Party. The taxes, fees, penalties, etc collected (as well as the additional stipulations like the 1099 filings) are essentially required to bring in new revenues and keep the can kicking down the road. That's the big sham about the faux outrage by the party hierarchy over Obamacare. It's just to whip the sheeple up. The party doesn't mind the program at all.

This is a really good result.

Paul gets 11% and second place and Gary Johnson 2%, which is actually something.

The ones on here have been trying to convince people to go for G. Johnson. And saying others there are waiting on Ron's decision. But Ron is deciding based on support as much as anything from what he says, so that could be sort of a chicken and an egg thing.

We need to get more plugged into the straw polls, though. We could have done more here if we had known earlier.

Still, second isn't the world's worst result, given that they were party insiders, and not the general public.

There's something wrong here ... Given Q2, the numbers on Q1 for Mitt and Ron should be reversed.

But yeah, this is a great result. :)

Julia Bergeron, the choice of Sununus, just went down in the race for New Hampshire State GOP Chair, a key post in the 2012 nomination fight.

The winner by a comfortable margin of state committee votes: Jack Kimball, a Seacoast businessman, Tea Party activist, and failed candidate for governor who has promised to push for a "strong conservative" nominee in 2012.

If you add up Ron, De Mint and Bachman, even leaving Palin out you get a nice chunk. I'd say the tea party overall is well represented in that vote.

However, it also shows that the tea party vote will be split, if that is the field, just as the conservative vote was in 08.

And to answer the question about voting, only certain party people could vote. I think it was something like 400-500 possible voters. It included state committee members and maybe some of the elected officials. Not sure exactly on all the requirements, but you had to sign in, and some people were walking around with "Voting Member" badges and others were like "Visitor" or "Media".

If it was "party insiders" that voted, then this is even better, because that means that a chunk of the core GOP are starting to take Paul very seriously, and there are probably a lot of core GOP that do not like Romney for various and probably obvious reasons.

what that means is someone who has been elected as a pc and the people they elected to the executive committee and the state party. At least in Idaho that is. Its not hard to be a pc and its fun. You guys should look into it. Its the only way you will take over the party mind you.

We can win this. If we get Ovide on our side and he campaigns for Ron Paul WE CAN WIN. Kimbell is a fake, although it would be nice if he would push Ron Paul. The tea party right before the elections Kimbell was making speeches about voting for party over principle and begging people to vote for liberal republican Bass.
