New York Primary April 19th

Its possible that for some reason neither CNN nor RCP show the votes for Carson and even calculate the percentages w/o Carson.... but no clue if that is the case

Ok - I found the reason:

"ALBANY - A vote for Ben Carson on Tuesday will count the same as no vote at all.

Carson, the retired neurosurgeon who dropped his bid for the Republican presidential nomination last month, sent a letter to the state Board of Elections late last week, requesting that votes cast for him Tuesday be considered void.

The board received the letter Monday -- the deadline for Carson to void his votes, according to board spokesman John Conklin.

While Carson's name will still be on the GOP ballot, any votes cast for him won't count toward the delegate-awarding process, according to Conklin.

The last-minute move provides a boost to GOP front-runner Donald Trump, whose quest to win a high number of the state's 95 delegates hinges on receiving 50 percent of the vote statewide and in New York's 27 individual congressional districts. [...]"

That really helped Trump to get 5-10 delegates more.

Why did he?

Well, assuming the story you linked is true, Carson probably already had a bunch of absentee ballots in the district.

That actually indicates something else too - Cruz didn't suddenly drop in New York - he's been unpopular the whole time - no jump up from bad decisions made a long time ago on absentee ballots for Cruz.

Yeah, this is about how I thought it would turn out, and I'm pretty confident that Ted Cruz is going to get creamed in Pennsylvania too, particularly in the cities and the more populated eastern half of the state, same with the rest of the northeast.

Empire State Building lit up red and blue when the results were in for the democrats and republicans.

full disclosure: Trump used to own the empire state building.

For all the bickering and back-and-forth that's plagued the right for years, it's a refreshing change of pace for the left to dissolve into the shouting matches, after claiming for so long that they, for the most part, remained united compared to the Republicans. Makes for interesting reads and me personally glad to be registered Independent.
