I don't know. Hopefully at least as much as Cruz's did. Cruz has jumped way up since his announcement.

He went from 6% to 16%. I would certainly be happy if Rand went up that much.

It's just fluff. His name was non-stop out there, the only candidate even officially running, and he can't pull off a temporary lead, as did Walker, after the media pumped him?

Sorry, it's really not impressive. He'll be back down again next month, with the media focused on talking about all the new candidates that will be announcing here in April.

Interesting, this is the first time I've seen Rand get more support from men than women. 11% women, 9% men. Not saying its accurate, but its worth keeping an eye on.

The previous poll by PPP in late Feb had Walker at 25% and Rand at 4%. So Rand is moving up and enthusiasm for Walker is cooling off. Which is my general belief, since the more one finds out about Walker, the worse he looks. The opposite goes for Rand.

My question is how the heck does Walker pull in anything in double digits? google trends gives no information to this anomaly.

Actually....I take that back. It appears that he did get some surges in media attention right before the spikes in web searches.

National polls don't matter.... The President or the Republican nomination is not decided by a majority or a plurality of the nation, it is only decided by very small and specific groups of people in narrow geographic areas (early states for the nomination, swing states for the general). Those are the only polls that matter.

So do you have some early state polls that will give some good news? Here's what I've learned from paying attention to this since 2008. Early state results matter only if you come in first. A "strong" second doesn't mean squat unless you are polling strong nationally. If Rand is top tier nationally and comes in 2nd in an early state poll that means something. If Rand is 2nd tier nationally and comes in first early state that means something. If Rand is second tier nationally and comes in second early state.....then that's a repeat of 2012 and he'll be written off. Someone please explain to me how I'm wrong. I would love to be wrong on that.
