New Iowa PPP poll: Rand at 3% with a 31% favorability rating

You want to torpedo the only guy who might get us our liberty back in time for us to fix this thing. As you've admitted, you want to see it burn. Do you have to sound so smug about it? Do you consider that noble? Do you have to make it your life's work? Shouldn't you be stocking the bomb shelter with canned goods?

Are you that gullible to believe that one man can reverse of 100 years of dense brick and mortar? A system of the immoral can never be redeemed. The government is a reflection of it's people. At best, we can manage the tyranny.

The polling is more accurate than anyone here will admit.

I admit Iowa is looking ugly right now, but there are good things to be learned from polls like this. Like second choice numbers, which PPP is good at breaking down:

Rand has a 39 percent favorable rating in the suffolk poll. And that poll basically only interviewed above the age of 26.

Rand would handily win the nomination if people under the age of 26 actually voted.

It's an unfortunate fact that Ron spoke to over 12,000 students at UCLA, but only 10% (or less?) registered as Republicans to vote for him in the primary.

In Iowa, 17-29 demo made up 15 percent of voters and Ron got about half of all of them. That should increase since school is in session this time around. So the suffolk poll basically ignored this demographic. If they show up, we win.

You're trying to manage the tyranny by blathering about every hot dog Trump eats?

One wonders how someone as enlightened as yourself could possibly be happy torturing us sycophants day and night. Are you sure that bomb shelter of yours isn't a higher priority right now?

The suffolk Poll also dramatically undercuts the Independent vote. Rand is going to do better than 2 percent. Now we do need to start reaching out to young and independent vote better.

The PPP poll( from what I am gathering) doesn't include independents. They made up a quarter of the vote an Ron dominated.

"No one is intrigued by Trump because he is this so-called 'true conservative."

I have to agree. Only ideological activists are really engaged with that question and Rand can hardly claim he's the most consistent candidate (If its Wednesday, are you a libertarian?). Trump is populist. He's just taking any position he thinks is popular and is going with it. If it happens to be "conservative" so be it. He has no ideology (which is actually quite refreshing) and so do most people. Its not question of checklists, its a question what issues voters feel passionate about and what candidates they feel passionate about because they sense what concerns. Trump has just done a better job than anyone else of expressing this badly though it may be.

I tell you what, it took brass balls for Trump to praise single payer healthcare at a GOP debate knowing he could be assaulted on it. Rand was the only one who did so and yet judging from the polls it didn't make much of an impression. But since so many GOP voters are on Medicare, well par for the course right? Then Trump says the Iraq war was a failure. I've been wanting to hear that from Rand too. Sorry, no such luck. So Trump is ahead in the polls while cautious Rand, more conservative than anyone else, is at three percent. Yeah, he's conservative all right, like a tortoise. And trying to be so made him like everyone else in a 17-candidate field.

If you're going to attack Trump, do so with another vision in mind for the campaign than Trump's, not an ideological checklist no one gives a damn about. As I said before, Rand needs to be the candidate willing to take on fear that's so poisoning the U.S political bloodstream. Trump is a candidacy built on fear. That's how I do it, not whether he has the conservative position on oil divesture. No one cares. Sometimes questions and ideologies fade in the background in elections and its really about where you take the country. Rand has simply not offered it (and a tax plan is not a "vision") not in the way his father did which made the movement possible (and Rand's career) He needs to go back. Ask yourself the question, why do you want to be President Rand? and go from there.
