*** NEVADA STATE CONVENTION CONTINUES SUNDAY ****

Would unbinding unbind the three and maybe help us.

All of them?

Epic Broomstick
guy didn't seem to be so keen on it yesterday. Maybe that was yesterday.

Found this;

State Delegation Each delegation are made up of up to three kinds of delegates. Party members, delegates from the congressional districts and delegates from the state at-large. They can either be bound, meaning that they are legally or morally bound to vote for a candidate for at least the first ballot at the National Convention, or they can be unbound, meaning that they are free to vote for any candidate at the National Convention. Some delegates are only morally bound, meaning that they are allocated to a candidate or elected on his ticket but are not legally bound to vote for him. Some delegates are unbound but are elected at their local conventions because they are strong supporters of a candidate. This means that the binding status of a delegate only become of importance if no candidate have reached an majority of delegates before the National Convention. If a candidate suspends his campaign the delegates allocated and/or elected to him may become unbound depending on state rules. Five delegations (#) have been penalized for breaking RNC election guidelines, meaning that their number of delegates have been cut in half and their party leaders have been banned from voting. Ten delegations (†) have chosen to bind their party leaders to the result of the allocating event instead of leaving them unbound.

just saying, if we already have our 5 states....this must mean delegates can vote for whoever they want in tampa.

Epic Broomstick guy said we all know what's coming down the pipe, so just be patient. I can only assume he's talking about an unbinding strategy.

I see so if we don't unbind the delegates then that won't count as winning a state to get on the ballot as well?

Carl Bunce said follow the rules. We follow the rules. So delegates will most likely remain bound. If that RNC person talked to the RP campaign and threatened the Nevada delegation, it may be for the best. :/

Not if Romney wins on the first ballot. What if the Nevada delegates are exactly those he needs to do that? If they don't try to unbind them and there's no second ballot because of that it would be a tragedy.

Honestly, I think we should take our victory and savor it as it is. We have the State GOP leadership and the majority of delegates for voting on non-Presidential things at the RNC. If our goal is to co-op the Party, we need to take the highroad. If our goal is to piss all of our hardwork away, we might as well just go Third-Party and get it over with.

The goal is to elect Ron Paul as I understand it.

so in short, with the unbinding, this has become a grand exercise in futility unless the tampa convention becomes brokered?

Maybe there is a way to do it WITHIN the rules all of which existed last October. I dunno, just talkin'
