NATIONAL USA Today/Gallup Poll: Ron Paul in 3rd place with 14%, Bachmann in 4th with 13%

This is friggin huge. I can't believe that most of the comments on this thread are about USA Today slighting Ron, and not that he has emerged nationally within 9 points of mittens and third place. 16% in Iowa was great news, but I had wondered how long it would take Ron to poll similar numbers nationally. I just got my answer: NO TIME!

Interesting. USA Today has changed the text in the article (put Ron's name in front of Bachmann's) and seems to have made the comments to this story inaccessible.

Can someone please explain to me why Bachmann is popular?

She's the poster child for anti-Obama rhetoric in the main stream media and a caricature for the religious right (which many are still curious about). She's a woman (which people are yearning for to hold high office), and, for many, a very physically attractive person.

Very astute.

I would add her plight appeals to chivalry, defend a womans honor, not hands on chivalry mind you, but wannabe no effort chivalry.

Not even on par with mmorpgs.

Seen alot of that with '08 Palin too -sacrifice but with no sacrifice, much like the wars.

Fantasy sacrifice. Disturbing and disgusting.:(

Bunkloco

Perry narrowly leads Romney among Tea Party supporters, 23% to 22%. Bachmann claims 19% of members of the Tea Party movement.

So they put how Romney, Perry, and Bachman sit with the TEA Party, but where are Paul's TEA Party numbers in this article?

That's one of the first things I wondered about when I read this.
They leave 36% of the Tea Party's support unaccounted for.

The reason why is these guys kept putting in Sarah Palin..... Take her out and now Ronnie is getting the votes.

They really are doing their best to pretend 4th comes before 3rd....

Not difficult to do.

In the late 1960's during the Olympics, the most publicized race (at the time) had taken place. Two of the Key Contenders were runners from the United States, and another runner from the former U.S.S.R. A Russian Newspaper reported that the outcome of the race was that the Russian Runner came in 2nd Place, and the American came in 2nd to Last Place. An American Newspaper simply reported that the American came in First Place. Neither of the Newspapers actually LIED, they told two different sides of the same story. But how could that be? Well, there was one little fact omitted in the Russian Newspaper, which Ommission of Facts isnt technically lying, but it twists the perceived outcome to be something that it is not. The Ommitted Fact was that there were only Two People in the Race. 2nd to Last Place IS First Place in a Two Man Race.

If people can understand that little bit of fiction there and how it works, people can understand how the reported 3rd Place probably really is 1st Place. He who votes has no power at all, while the single person who counts the votes has all the power in the world. We have no control over how the votes are counted, and we assume that they are being honest in their findings. And we all know what is said about those who 'Assume'.

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who like Perry appeals to many Tea Party supporters and Christian evangelicals, is fourth at 13%.

In third place is Texas Rep. Ron Paul, at 14%.

It's probably already been addressed, I'm just getting back to speed, but, who the hell writes such a sentence, posting fourth before third.
