My 16 year old son is undergoing a minor surgery Thursday, removal of a lymph node and subsequent biopsy of the thing. This all happened very fast. 10 days ago he noticed a lump in his groin. Pediatrician thought hernia, sent for CT scan. Surgeon read CT, said, no, swollen lymph. Gave hard cord course of antibiotics. A week later, thing had grown, was very sore and he thought he felt another. Sent back to surgeon yesterday. There are 4 of them. So, in order to rule out a lymphoma or leukemia or other scary stuff they are going to take it out and send it away. He's scared shitless even though he'd never admit it. Keep him on your thoughts tomorrow morning at 9:30 if you could, please?

Thank you all.

K.

Kathy:

As a parent, I know this has got to be extremely trying on you--though you cannot show it.

You and your son are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bobby

So sorry to see this, my brother is about to start radiation for cancer he found out he had right before Thanksgiving so I understand how difficult this has to be, my thoughts and prayers for the best possible outcome.

I went thru this very thing Kathy, I had swollen lymphnodes popping up everywhere and had inguinal and axillary lymph nodes removed, it came back reactive hyperplasia, .......... in other words enlarged due to overworking. YET No cancer OR infection found. That was 20 years ago. Praying for the same results with your son, hang in there !

((((kathy88 and son))))

Thinking of you both and visualizing good health for your son.

Bump for timing.

Praying for wisdom, strength, and serenity for you and yours.

Getting ready to go to the hospital. We won't know much until tuesday next week when the biopsy comes back. Nate is scared to death, but being 16 will not admit it. :)

Let Nate know that he has a lot of people he doesn't even know pulling for him and his mom

I'm not usually the praying type, but every once in a while I send out a little prayer anyway, just in case it might help. This is one of those times. :) I hope everything goes well!

Thanks everyone! We're back. He did great, except when he called the surgeon "dude" and thanked him for leaving his nuts intact :(
