What do you think is the purpose of a business? To provide jobs to americans? Or to make a profit for the owners?

To make money within the bounds of morality.
However alien the concept of morality may be to you, it exists.

Somewhat related. All Democrats, a couple the most hardcore communists in Congress...
I agree, I was just checking. Sometimes you guys sound like business is just a big jobs program in which case we might as well nationalize them.
And if they can't get a deep state actor to buy your fave public forum and censor it, they'll send you a Swordsmyth to be toxic enough to kill it.
Either way, the rules are the same:

What do taxes have to do with something that is currently in short supply, say housing? Supply and demand. Increase the population, increase the demand for all of those things.
It occurs to me that the supply of housing is analogous to the supply of physical gold. There are limitations on how much new supply can be created.
"Gold is too expensive and scarce."
"Just mine some gold."
A huge difference being that no one requires physical gold on a daily basis to live.
If only there were some mechanism to determine the best allocation of scarce goods.
Yeah, if only we could allow extraterrestrial aliens with an existential need for gold come to Earth to purchase gold. Then the free market would finally work and reach equilibrium.
If you don't believe free markets work, then why are you here?
