I'm trying to come up with a list of movies featuring rebellions from history (particularly those fighting for freedom and/or independence)

Here are the movies I was able to come up with.

Braveheart (1995)
Spartacus (1960)
The Patriot (2000)
The Crossing (2000)

I'm also looking for a good movie on the civil war that isn't so pro-union. Can anyone think of any other movies I can add to this list?

The Sand Pebbles
Dr. Zhivago
The Year Of Living Dangerously

Do Civil War movies count?Gotta bunch of them.

The Pianist has a pretty good depiction of the Warsaw Uprising in WWII. Very disturbing movie, but worth watching.

Birth of a Nation (1915)
Gone With the Wind (1939)

wonderful thread. was going to start one myself. +rep

The easy on no one has put up is V for Vendetta. I also think quite a bit can be learned from the previous 2 batman movies. Especially Dark Knight Rises where the city is on military lockdown. My wife dislikes sitting and watching a movie. I enjoy most of them. Its interesting to see the trials and tribulations of every day people even if its in a fictional world.
