I post things the same way many times. I might have no interest in having a discussion with certain folks here but think the material might be of interest to some (mostly lurkers) who read threads here. I see it sort of as if I was passing on a message between say a friend I know who is renting an apartment out and needs tenants and an acquaintance I think might be in the market to rent.

It seems that most frequently the responses here are from a small number of folks who silence through shaming most unconventional discussion and that it isn't worth the energy to involve oneself in another futile discussion when such is the case. It might be a more reasonable place for discussion if threads could be pro/con and be discussed in a more on topic fashion rather than every thread being a discussion of why the Reformed folks are so brilliant and are the only ones the Creator loves and how everyone else is the spawn of hell.

I don't mind your posts MT. They are usually showing what you see as the beauty in a belief system, rather than an attack on another. I read them as you intend. I can respect that.

Some Reformed folks here occasionally post stuff as the final truth that I disagree with but they will do a good job defending it. I can respect that.

Ronin however will post something that does not show the beauty of his belief. I have no idea what he believes. His beliefs are mostly an attack on others. His attacks are full of shoddy study. His instincts for gathering research resembles that of a dung beetle. When called on it he just posts more as if he can bury it with more of the like.

If someone posts what they believe, fine. They may get a debate from me but they have my respect. If someone posts lies to make my belief system look bad and can't back it up, they have my full scorn.

This would incline me towards a rebuttal thread if I felt my position was being unjustly presented, as it seems some here do. I don't have a dog in this particular fight because it isn't anything that I have exposure enough to discuss. It seems that if most of the links are bunk, then it would be easy enough to start a does not equal thread which would get the views and links easily organized.

Nobody knows the birthday of Jesus. No date is mentioned or hinted at anywhere in the Bible.

On the other hand, when was Mithra's birthday? Can you find any ancient sources that mention that? Or, can you find any ancient sources mentioning any special dates for Mithraism that match any special dates for Christianity at any stage in its history?

Keeping records of birthdays has nothing to do with importance. Very few ancient people knew when their own birthdays were. It's highly unlikely that Mary or Joseph could have known what the specific date was that Jesus was born.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but most of what you have posted above again is either bunk or it was added to Mithraism in Roman paganism to imitate Christianity not the other way around. The Persian (original) Mithraism is completely different than the post Christian version.

A similar birthday of two different God's does not equal the worship of both.

You and Ronin are chronic victims, always judging the Christians in your lives. Not enough "fruit", not enough "love", not enough "peace". Never enough for you, two. Then add in the various non-Christian beliefs and what you have left is confusion, anger, and frustration. I do feel for you, however, not enough to not call you out on your continuing to whine about knowledgeable Christians defending their faith.
