Medical Marijuana Industry backing Ron Paul?

Get those dispensaries voter registration forms, and make sure they know why they need to get their people registered GOP.

my friend, I have a whole stack of voter reg. forms. Doing a voter registration bomb today. If you're in LA...come join us at santa monica pier.

I don't really know who the 'marijuana industry' refers to. There is no big business in it due to federal regulations. Its mostly entrepreneurs and private parties.

Heres a good link.

What I call the MMJ Industry is the top half dozen dispensaries in LA County and a handful of pro-growers near Eureka, CA. Throw in a couple MMJ Industry consultants and a few MMJ equipment and nutrient supply companies. They are dear people but damn....they love them some Obama.

Some of us Los Angeles RP'ers are planning to do tabling at Venice Beach (potheads) POT/PEACE/PAUL, and probably hit up all of the dispenseries.

if its possible

If Cali is a closed primary, make sure and take voter registration forms with you. Also Blue Democrat (Blue Republican?) lit so they know that MMJ isn't the ONLY issue we agree on.

LOL OK I posted that before I saw this. ;)

Good show!

I still think the "Blue Republican" (or is it Blue Democrat, I can never remember) lit is a good idea so the folks know that MMJ is just one of many points of common ground.

Definitely need a huge emphasis on this throughout the campaign. Folks underestimate how much public opinion has swayed on the legalization of marijuana. Polls show an increase in pro-legalization sentiment across the country every single year.

I really believe Ron, the campaign, and we need to emphasize to voters the impact a regulated marijuana/hemp market could have on EVERYONE in this country, and that the plant has never killed a soul. I know that's beating a dead horse, but many people still associate weed with death, and it couldn't be further from the truth. We must educate this country and continue to get the public on the side of common sense.

right on. here's another potential selling point for the [stereotypical] SoCal crowd: GREEN JOBS!

some folks think this freedom issue is a loser, and judging by these forums over the years the best i can figure is that it is a potential loser in certain geographic regions. i feel sorry for those of you in these regions.

Well it would be nice to tap into their financial support since they don't really have any other candidate to turn to. Are there any major pot forums to promote BTO?

I asked this big time dispensary owner named Chubbs (marijuanareviews) who posts videos on you tube and has a very large following to endorse Paul. His response was "His racist comments about Martin Luther King day turned me off."
I told him that MLK was a hero of his and that he never made a racist comment regarding MLK day. If anyone else has something to change his mind please let me know.

Wow, sounds like he loves the feds then. Paul is the only viable candidate to support his cause, but then again if all states started producing medicinal mary jane then maybe he wouldn't like that very well...

Thats what I was thinking as well. Those people making huge money the way it is, are not going to want change.

forum.grasscity.com is a good one. a lot of young people and there is a big Ron Paul thread there too.

Pssst, I put this up as a suggestion yesterday, and it was banished to hot topics.

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?323106-Promote-Ron-at-California-Dispensaries.

We shouldn't run away from support because the mainstream Republicans might not agree with us or Ron Paul's stance on this issue. Ron has never run away from issues because they aren't politically viable. He built his whole career on not abandoning his convictions.

+1

I'm a new Ron Paul supporter as of September. I support medical marijuana and I know there are a lot of like minded people who would come out and support Paul if his stance on "states rights, including protection of medical marijuana and medical marijuana dispensaries if such activities & entities are protected by state law" received more publicity.

I agree with your post; there are many people still associating weed with death or some how it messes up your mind. My Dad is not a pro pot fan, even though i know he smoked it in the 60's during his time. But now he's been brainwashed with propaganda of how its more potent then when he did it and honestly alot of people in his generation are fearful of pot for whatever reason. I dont think we are going change there minds in time. I agree we some how need to reach out better to the MMJ ppl but not in a way that it becomes the talking points of TV, turning away potential voters from him. I like what they did on this thread http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...oducts.com-THE-SUPER-BROCHURE-FOR-.07-or-less!!!!! Basically a grassroots education pamphlet developed by the grassroots people and not the campaign. In this politically correct world maybe WE, rather then the campaign can better targeting the MMJ audience. They are certainly an audience we need support from. I've seen some marijuana slim jims made on here, the artist did fantastic. But now we running short on time. I think we need some mass production of some quality slim jims or pamphlets to educate the MMJ'ers. I like the print your own method, but honestly I would rather just buy 1000 or so and help distribute them to people that can assist in passing the information to the correct targeted audience. Also I see many MMJ supporters always jammed up in the system because of the mmj laws. Typically these people don't follow politics or rarely vote; some of the ones I've talked to didnt even know we had a presidential candidate who actually has legislation in congress to to get rid of some of the federal hang ups regarding MMJ. We need these usually non voters/non followers of politics introduced to many of RP's stances and maybe some sort of information how they can register to vote. The amount of people I've had to print registration forms for and educate why they should vote is crazy.

well look at Obama he was supposed to legalize it. What happened to that? People must understand how much money our country is wasting on this.

The main thing is are those people donating to the campaign? Even if they don't vote in the primary, money now can help win early states.

I wouldn't discount the #'s of retiring baby boomers who wouldn't mind a little mj now that the kids are out of the house and their aches and pains have grown.

When I was in college, my friend's dad was a produce distributor and so my friend would bring up a couple boxes or so of avocados and give most of them away to his friends and eat as many as he could. It saved him and all of us a little bit on our grocery bills.

I have some friends who are in college now, and know of more than one whose parents grow herb and give it to their kids in college so they don't have to spend a bunch of money on it.
