I'm with stormcommander, Kludge, and ARealConservative:

BARR because writing in Ron Paul's name is useless since he won't be registered as a write-in candidate in any of the states.

I can live with Barr. I want the LP to GROW, not remain some kind of "purist" elitist clique.

But they've been losing members by abandoning their roots. If you can be happy with a Bob Barr, then your best route is to focus on infiltrating the GOP, since there's a good chance that can be accomplished in the upcoming off-season election. I'm not sure how deep I'll get into that yet, but I know a lot of fellow supporters working towards that goal.

As for your purist comment, well I'm open to compromise on quite a few issues. Bob Barr has been on the wrong side of quite a few major ones however. He comes across as an opportunist and I won't be fooled again (hopefully). It's also a sign of how institutionalized the LP has become. Institutionalization is typically when organizations cross over from being useful to dangerous.

The truth is though, that it's too late to truly turn things around in this country. And historically speaking, it always is, when it gets to this point. It won't be until after things collapse that people will be forced to reexamine their views on the role of government. It's more important than ever to be pure in our message, since it'll eventually be heard and, once implemented, diluted down by the masses. We will never achieve smaller government through incremental steps. But when our time comes, we need to make sure that the next government starts out as clear and idealistic as possible so that lawyers won't be quibbling over the intent of the constitution for the hundreds of years that follow.

I fail to see what is the point of writing in Ron Paul. I seriously doubt he would even receive any attention after the election as an anonymous write-in that does not count.

Your poll is missing some other choices:

[ ] None of the above

[X] I will not vote in this presidential election

That must be why the Ron Paul Write In option is doing so well. Since all of those options have the same effect.
:)

Ron Paul.

If there isn’t a write in available, I’ll decorate the whole damn ballot in giant black magic marker…RON PAUL!

hillary clinton is still seeking out superdelegates as barack obama is almost 40 delegates away from the nomination. thought i'd bump this poll...

I'm voting for Chuck Baldwin.

Barr's record is horrible and I'm still very skeptical about him.

Writing in Ron Paul is foolish. Your vote will NOT be counted and no one will even know about it because he isn't filing as a write-in candidate. Also, it's kind of hard to campaign for someone who isn't in the presidential race anymore (after the primaries are over).

That's what it all boils down to. He is a pastor, and he doesn't approve of homosexuality personlly, therefore he is unfit to serve as president.

It's quite humorous to see people bend over backwards to defend Barr just because he is in the Libertarian Party. I'm sure that he would be getting this much defense if he had an (R) next to his name  For over a year now this movement has condemend party over principle, but it appears we may be going to opposite way now.

So, you are against Ron Paul? Because, I am pretty sure he is also against homosexuality personally.

Bob Barr is former CIA.

He's practically a Bilderberg puppet.

Alex Jones had on Chuck Baldwin cuz even he knows that Bob Barr is NWO.

All you Bob Barr supporters should realize this.

I like Libertarians, politically speaking I am leftist-libertarian I get e-mails from the Libertarian Party but Bob Barr is not going to represent Libertarian beliefs.

depends...as it stands, I'll be writing Ron Paul's name in....however, if he endorses Chuck Baldwin (which I think he'd endorse him over Barr), then I'll vote for him (if he's on the ballot in my State), then I'll vote for him...if Chuck isn't on the ballot and Ron endorses him? Ehh, probably write Ron Paul's name in.

i love ron paul but screw it , im voting obama fuck mccain and y vote 3rd party its not like gonna win

Why not join many of us in voting for Barr or Baldwin to send a message to the GOP? It will have the effect of taking away a vote from McCain to boot!

Just how the hell can Barr get on the ticket if Paul has been in all this time? Can somebody explain this to me?
