McCain eligible to be President or not?

McCain may be ineligible, but I don't think he should be (he was born on a US base into the family of an active service member), and there are bigger McCain fish to fry.

I would heartily agree if they were working for us--but with the MSM blackout, they aren't. I say we get this traitor out of the way, win, and fix the problem so it never stops an army brat who isn't a traitor in the future.

We should have him out of the way now for getting on multiple ballots not by petition, but by promising to take public funds, then conveniently changing his mind. I'm ready to go with whatever gets us the just result. If we don't bow to expediency at some point, I believe we'll get our asses expediently handed to us. And I don't want that. I'm too damned patriotic.

It's funny how all the people with 100 posts are the ones saying how this should never be brought up again.

No. What's funny that certain idiots keep making this into a bigger deal than it is. The New York Times is a joke and everyone here knows it. They're a liberal propoganda newspaper out to slam John McCain anyway that they can. So first they write a story based on assumptions of McCain's advisors and now they write this junk. It's funny that everyone here whines about how much the mainstream media sucks and how biased they are, but we just gotta believe the New York Times on this one! Shutup and attack McCain where it counts- his terrible record as a Senator.

this has never been tested in 200+ years.. .this will be tested if McCain wins, which he won't.

No joke, troll. If we can get public attention to it, we can get public attention to it. If it's a valid loophole, it's a valid loophole. If we can use the Times backing and then turning on their lame so-called opposition too soon--before he actually has the nomination in hand--why the hell would we let the nation go down the tubes instead?

P.S. I suspect the spectre of him getting the G.O.P. nomination could well cause it to get tested this very summer.

So I'm a troll because I think this is a non issue and a complete waste of time? We've had thread after thread about this and most everyone here agrees with me! So I think the troll here is the OP and you! Once again, the New York Times is a joke! No true conservative(I'm assuming that's what we all are here) thinks the New York Times is a credible newspaper. If he was ineligible, I doubt he would have gone through TWO long Presidential campaigns without anybody saying, "Hey this guy isn't eligible to be President!" Are you really that stupid?

He's not too proud to jeopardize his campaign by going back on the pledge that got him out of getting on several states' ballots by petition. Are you so stupid that you haven't figured out yet that neocons get away with whatever they can? We've sure seen enough evidence of it. Dubya swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution--twice--after all.

An article in the Times--whether you like that paper or not--has broken through the MSM blackout, and is therefore useful.

And no, you not a troll over this issue. You've got an extensive history of trolling.

This is a no win for us folks. Obviously we wouldn't want to disqualify military children from being president just because their parents had an assignment overseas. Besides the PTB aren't going to deny McCain the nomination or the presidency based on a bizarre technicality. They would use something like that against PAUL if they could (and if he was close to winning) and if that happened we'd be hopping mad. Beat up McCain on the lobby mistress scandal, the Keating 5 scandal and his fundraising shenanigans, but leave this one alone.

Unless you get a chance to donate to a legal fund taking the issue up. No need to do that in Dr. Paul's name, though...
