There's a power struggle brewing over cybersecurity, with two Senate factions butting heads. One group is backing a bill that is - surprisingly - not horrendous in its privacy implications. (You can take partial credit for this, as that bill was written with every desire to avoid awakening the powerful coalition that killed SOPA a few weeks ago.)

But McCain's side wants to enable the military to snoop on civilian Internet users:

As Reuters notes, the "types of information that could be shared are broad, and the data would go to 'cybersecurity centers' that specifically include the National Security Agency's Threat Operations Center and the U.S. Cyber Command Joint Operations Center."

So John McCain wants a cybersecurity bill that would look like the Chinese gov version only ten times worse and i thought the battle against such bills was over.

i already sent a letter to my lawmakers, but given congressman chabot is a moron(i refused to vote for him in the primaries this tuesday) who still supported sopa even after the backlash and sherrod brown, the only senator to have responded to concerns and simply redirected evryone to his deputy governor, i dont have much hope for any ohio congressional lawmaker to disapprove of it...

Arizona Republican John McCain on Monday became the first senator to call for U.S.-led air strikes to stop the slaughter of unarmed civilians being carried out by the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

“Providing military assistance to the Free Syrian Army and other opposition groups is necessary, but at this late hour, that alone will not be sufficient to stop the slaughter and save innocent lives. The only realistic way to do so is with foreign airpower,” McCain, a Vietnam War veteran and the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in a speech on the Senate floor.

“Therefore, at the request of [opposition forces], the United States should lead an international effort to protect key population centers in Syria, especially in the north, through airstrikes on Assad’s forces.”Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), two of McCain’s closest allies on foreign policy, issued a statement Monday night saying they backed McCain’s position toward Syria.

Do some deep research on John McCain and you will find out he spent his time as a prisoner in Vietnam, living in hotels and being attended by Vietnamese "nurses." John McCain hates America, in my opinion.

Facts about John McCain:

- McCain was placed ahead of 168 better qualified applicants to Pensacola flight school by his Admiral Daddy.
- McCain crashed 5 planes at Pensacola. He earned the infamous nick name of ACE McCain by other students. McCain would crash his sixth plane 22 hours into his Vietnam experience.
- Families of MIA/POW's will not sit with him at POW/MIA functions.
- McCain's flight instructor said. John McCain was the worst pilot to ever graduate Pensacola.
