Lord of the Forums/RPF's thoughts

That you think you can use the Enemy's weapon in any just way is exactly why Suz said you're Boromir.

There were a lot of rings but were discussing the One Ring.

Yes, you do.

Sam wished that the spirit of Mordor would spread and that the Orcs would destroy eachother too.
To clarify about this:

I don't want to use the surveillance/police state to crush the opposition or any other aspect of big government, I only want the legitimate functions of small government to provide for the common defense and administer justice.
I'm talking about if I held government office, I would try to end big government NOT use it, until then if an Orc attacks me I'm more than willing to arrange for another Orc to attack the first one.

Why should I believe you would act differently as a government official? It has been my experience (with every few exceptions) that becoming a government official brings out the worst in people.

Because I advocate for the end of big government and I don't go around using it against people who don't use it against me first.

You may believe what you wish about me but I follow my beliefs even when they don't personally benefit me.

Never read the books, never saw the movies...

I guess I ought to one of these days.

Never read the books, but did see the movies. I have no idea about the races. I'm half afraid they'll call me Gollum, but if the ring is freedom, then yeah...my precious!

The One Ring is tyrannical power.

The other rings (which were created first but bizarrely lose their power when the One Ring is destroyed) are ordinary power (although some of them were supposed to have been corrupted somehow) which can be used for good purposes.

I haven't figured out Danke yet but Swordsmith is Boromir, I don't care what he says.:p

Can I change the title to Lord of the Forums? I just think it's more catchy.

Looking to see who's online and Occam's Banana jumped out at me.

Now, he's a Frodo. I would trust him to carry the ring.

While I definitely am a fan of Tolkien's overall message, I read The Hobbit in HS and found reading it to be a real chore, so I never read any of the others. Saw the movies once each but am not even close to familiar enough with them to figure who I might best be represented by. Maybe I'll give the movies another watch and try carving through the books again to see if time has changed my perspective.
