Not trying to offend , but if someone thinks spending is not a problem , they must be, at best, mildly retarded....
Harkin is definitely one of the five worst members of the U.S Senate.

That, or a very clever liar and a thief
This is disgraceful. I would double down, take us over the cliff, and let taxes go up. I'd rather patch up the deficit with revenue than write more blank checks.
And no way to pay for it ??More spending in the bill due to unemployment benefit extension.
I don't see how conservatives and support that.

Well, if you just look in the confines of this bill, I'd expect the higher taxes on the >$400K incomes would more than cover that. The whole thing is a patch with each grabbing splinters, not a fix.
In this case, though, the taxes go up MORE otherwise, so the leverage is unusual.
I am not sure how a Conservative can even stand to be in that city, must be tough customers , I am afraid it would make me ill....More spending in the bill due to unemployment benefit extension.

Leaders say the house will not vote on any proposals today.
WE ARE GOING OVER THE SO CALLED FISCAL CLIFF!

Apparently they have a deal on raising our taxes (no surprise there) but can't come to terms on spending cuts.
The house is not expected to vote on anything and they're claiming they may come to a deal tomorrow? How in the hell can they come to a deal tomorrow?
economy crashes at midnight
Did you see my above post? The proposed cuts are 3/10 of 1% of spending.
Tax all lottery winners at 85%
