Libertarian National Convention

Gravel just said he voted for Wayne Allyn Root, but he's not endorsing him.

Um, Ruwart has alot to prove. How about getting something done in another office before trying to get people to vote for you as president.

Bob Barr will put the country on a better path then the republicans and democrats. Again, you're not going to change everything all at once, buddy. The congress won't respect a no-name president. They aren't going to be swung in one felled swoop. Elect someone that can, and will make progress. Ruwart hasn't even done anything on the state/local level. I can go around saying stuff too but it doesn't make me qualified to be president.

How about we quit thinking that ONLY previously elected (aka "Career") politicians can be effective in office?

It was NEVER supposed to be a "climb the ladder" of offices... all that means is that EVERY "representative" is a career pol, and every officeholder is a career pol... ever wonder if maybe THAT is the main problem?

Or she could have showed she really cared by running for other offices. If I cared I would have tried for many other positions...as many as I could to help. For being "active" so long she hasn't done much. Bob Barr has shown he wants to make progress by his actions. Ruwart's actions don't convince me of that.

Gonna have to go with Barr on this one. I'm willing to believe him when he says he's sorry for the Patriot Act vote, and J. Bradley (in D.C.) Jansen's article doesn't hurt. Kinda sad for Gravel, I know his policies are pretty out there, but you gotta respect the guy for the filibuster and the way he brings it.

Barr brings much needed attention, he's not perfect sure, but it's hard because the standard set by Ron Paul is so high.

Slightly Rephrase that, and you have the GOP agenda for 2008:

The only candidate who has any chance of getting any significant media coverage, let alone getting into the debates, is MCCAIN. He may not be a perfect REPUBLICAN, but he will advance the party and philosophy more than any of the others.

Blech.

Ok. Don't bitch when 20 yrs from now the Libertarian party is exactly the same place it is now. Or worse. Incrementalism in the right direction is better than in the wrong direction.

Root = Pretty Boy NeoCon.

Barr = Old White Guy NeoCon.

Do you ever shut up? They aren't neocons. Anyone who isn't a die hard Libertarian 20 year member who hasn't accomplished anything is a Neocon. I'm voting for someone who WILL make progress.

Oooh... cool, now it's nothing but a "game". :mad:

Hhmm.... what do you call what's been going on in the Republican conventions? We came into this as political neophytes and learned lessons about the political process (or "game") the hard way. We will be harder to beat next time.
