Libertarian National Convention

The only candidate who has any chance of getting any significant media coverage, let alone getting into the debates, is Barr. He may not be a perfect Libertarian, but he will advance the party and philosophy more than any of the others.

Incrementalism, people. We didn't get to this point all at once. Don't expect to reverse course all at once.

Slightly Rephrase that, and you have the GOP agenda for 2008:

The only candidate who has any chance of getting any significant media coverage, let alone getting into the debates, is MCCAIN. He may not be a perfect REPUBLICAN, but he will advance the party and philosophy more than any of the others.

Blech.

Gravel & Root were having a private conversation, from what I heard it sounded like Gravel was trying to convince Root to get his endorsement... Strange...

Libs are idealists who left the Dem and Repub parties though because of the parties were compromising on ideals. I think they just want to make sure that doesn't happen again.

I do not speak for Barr but will be happy to give you my thoughts/guess.

There is a relationship between drugs and terrorism that IS a threat to this country. The lexis of narco-terrorism as terrorism finance is a serious threat to the national security of this country. There has been evidence of the GOVERNMENTS of Venezuela and Ecuador (and maybe Bolivia, I can't remember off hand) supporting the FARC (leftist Colombian terrorist group that gets most of its money from the drug trade--because of recent related events, the FARC is imploding, but it is a seriously dangerous situation right now).

Shifting resources from activities that don't show results to areas where there is a crucial concern is consistent with good government principles.

Also, I think it's ignorant that Mary would say Bob Barr isn't principled. Bob Barr is taking steps that produce progress one step at a time.

Again, if you try to jump across a cliff you probably won't make it. Build a bridge, and you'll get there.

Sure... nice analogy but as all analogies it fails...

Lets say we want to change which side of the road we drive on... let's do it gradually... yeah that will work!

Exactly what I'm saying. If you want progress, you need to swallow your pride and let it happen. Some of the die hard libs can't do it, though. So to me, that makes them as bad in my eyes as Hillary or McCain. It's almost like roadblocking progress.

Sorry but many of Bob Barr's proposed policies would continue to take this country down the WRONG path. You can ignore it if you want. That's an awful big sell out for a couple of appearances on Fox News, though.

Barr - 202
Ruwart - 202
Root - 149
Gravel - 76

Gravel is out now. Watch Bob Barr take over from here on out.

I predict this:

root gets dropped

Barr wins when he captures the majority of his supporters

yay

can you see Root's supporters taking Ruwart over Root? BARR WON!!

Results from FOURTH round...

  • Barr 202 (32%)
  • Ruwart 202 (32%)
  • WAR 149 (24%)
  • Gravel 76 (12%)

Fifth round should be interesting... something tells me we'll end up with a seventh round.

That is precisely the way I see this situation. Simply triangulating a percentage.

Then vote Chuck Baldwin buddy. You have other options.
