Libertarian National Convention

Oh man! A delegate walks up to Bob Barr saying she has a question, she's about to ask and Bob interrupts her... "Do you want this recorded?" and she says, "No." and the camera is gone. HOW SMOOTH IS THAT?! He advocates Privacy! God I really hope Bob Barr wins this nomination.

Someone said it was 5% on CNN. Don't know about the others, I wouldn't be surprised if FOX News allowed a Barr/Root '08 ticket on their debates, they love those two dudes... Because they have true conservatives to vote for.

No, they wouldn't. FOX is purely neo-con. They hate true conservatives. They don't want real conservatives to remind others about their supposed limited government principles and how they fell off the track.

If FOX liked real conservatives, they would have loved Ron Paul.

General Election debates are not run by the networks. They are ran by the Commission on Presidential Debates. They have already been scheduled and the commission decides who gets in and who does not. They are not network debates like the primaries. The General Election debates are shown on all networks at the same time, just like the State of the Union.

Fox wants ratings. Barr is very quotable and recognizable and is mostly known to their audience as the Clinton impeachment guy.

The only candidate who has any chance of getting any significant media coverage, let alone getting into the debates, is Barr. He may not be a perfect Libertarian, but he will advance the party and philosophy more than any of the others.

Incrementalism, people. We didn't get to this point all at once. Don't expect to reverse course all at once.

The Commission also released the 2008 Candidate Selection Criteria which will be used to determine who is invited to participate in the general election debates. In addition to being constitutionally eligible, candidates must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to have a mathematical chance of winning a majority vote of the electoral college, and have 15% support in national polls before the debates.

Exactly. They pimped Barr out quickly when he announced his exploratory committee. I do have to say this though, Christine Smith is one ugly chick... Eww...

well

All you do is label people neo cons. neo cons this neo cons that. You didn't even spell her name right. Bob Barr isn't a neo con. You're a neocon for not wanting to support a candidate who can get something done. You might as well not do anything at all if you can't make progress!

i dont have to label sir, bob barr(check his record) is pro drug war and full of crap and he has backed all the neo-con policys when he was in power. bob barr is a joke , i thought he was ok,but i read up on him, he is full of crap..

And that "Commission" is a private organization owned 50/50 by the RNC and the DNC... so fat chance on ANYONE else getting in on the act...

Maybe YOUTUBE can help?

Very true. Mary Ruwart would get NO coverage. Barr could get a significant amount.

is that a realistic prospect assuming we come out of the Convention with the best possible ticket we can?

Exactly what I'm saying. If you want progress, you need to swallow your pride and let it happen. Some of the die hard libs can't do it, though. So to me, that makes them as bad in my eyes as Hillary or McCain. It's almost like roadblocking progress.
