Libertarian National Convention

Ruwart should win. Barr has a lot to prove before anyone can take him seriously! Not to mention Ruwart and Baldwin as third parties would be great for ALL lovers of Liberty!

I do not speak for Barr but will be happy to give you my thoughts/guess.

There is a relationship between drugs and terrorism that IS a threat to this country. The lexis of narco-terrorism as terrorism finance is a serious threat to the national security of this country. There has been evidence of the GOVERNMENTS of Venezuela and Ecuador (and maybe Bolivia, I can't remember off hand) supporting the FARC (leftist Colombian terrorist group that gets most of its money from the drug trade--because of recent related events, the FARC is imploding, but it is a seriously dangerous situation right now).

Shifting resources from activities that don't show results to areas where there is a crucial concern is consistent with good government principles.

What a lame justification. Have people learned anything from Dr. Paul's campaign? This country is heading towards a financial meltdown. These "resources" Barr writes about simply do not exist. Not to mention this is not advocating a policy of non-intervention!

We are broke, Bradley. Flat broke. We don't need to be "shifting resources"; we need to bring them the hell home. To support spending money that we do not have, is NOT "good government principles".

This just puts an exclamation behind why I am voting for Chuck Baldwin.

Results from FOURTH round...

  • Barr 202 (32%)
  • Ruwart 202 (32%)
  • WAR 149 (24%)
  • Gravel 76 (12%)

Fifth round should be interesting... something tells me we'll end up with a seventh round.

Yes, there will be a seventh. Even if ALL of Gravel's 12% goes to a single candidate, it won't put any one candidate over the majority.

The key now is do the Mike Gravel supporters start leaning towards Mary Ruwart? That'll probably be the only thing that saves her but I think Bob Barr has this thing sewed up. Is the VP nomination process right after this?

Um, Ruwart has alot to prove. How about getting something done in another office before trying to get people to vote for you as president.

Bob Barr will put the country on a better path then the republicans and democrats. Again, you're not going to change everything all at once, buddy. The congress won't respect a no-name president. They aren't going to be swung in one felled swoop. Elect someone that can, and will make progress. Ruwart hasn't even done anything on the state/local level. I can go around saying stuff too but it doesn't make me qualified to be president.

Sorry but many of Bob Barr's proposed policies would continue to take this country down the WRONG path. You can ignore it if you want. That's an awful big sell out for a couple of appearances on Fox News, though.

Bob Barr isn't going to be president, but he will get more media exposure then anybody else running and will do a better job of positioning the LP to win State races and setup for an even stronger 2012.

And the fact is the issues he highlights in this campaign fit us perfectly.

Yeah... but the ROOT of that "relationship" has three letters... C.I.A.

Just like Iran-Contra. (But hey, maybe you're like Buchanan... after all, "He's a Contra Too! Wouldn't You?" )

I was wondering the same thing... when do they pick their VP?

The more quick research I am doing on Ruwart ... she seems pretty solid to me.

Except she contradicts herself left and right. Last night she proposed taxes and fees. Pretty big slip. She has a bad habit of passing judgment on people like Bob Barr. She should stop talking and preaching so much and PRACTICE WHAT SHE PREACHES. All she can do is criticize people....it's ridiculous. GET SOMETHING DONE MAKE PROGRESS instead of pointing out the faults in others. Bob Barr is beyond this. He has a mission.

Oh man! A delegate walks up to Bob Barr saying she has a question, she's about to ask and Bob interrupts her... "Do you want this recorded?" and she says, "No." and the camera is gone. HOW SMOOTH IS THAT?! He advocates Privacy! God I really hope Bob Barr wins this nomination.

He's the only one there who understands this game.

Ruwart says she's been around long enough....but what has she done? I'm sick of people talking and not delivering, and she is one of them.
