Kucinich wanted Ron Paul as Running Mate

What Kucinich people? Seriously, he had negligible public support (sadly).

The only reason you don't hear about his public support is because he got less media time than RP. A lot of my friends support him.

I totally disagree with him on economics but I like his anti-war, pro civil rights record. Plus, I really think he's honest and genuine, just like RP. It would be a hoot and a half if he endorsed RP.

Principle over party, freedom is not a political party and freedom trumps everything else.

More people like Kucinich than would vote for him - that whole 'unelectability' issue again.

I suppose that's true. Also, I hope nobody thinks I'm saying there's something wrong with Kucinich, he's as straightforward and honest as Ron Paul, and not many people can say that.

I find it fascinating how two men with extremely polar opposite political philosophies (socialist versus libertarian) are actually in agreement with so many things.

Actually, if you do your research in political theory you'll find that "true Socialism" and Libertarianism are very similar. Both ideologies have the goal of eliminating government. the difference is in the means by which they achieve that goal. True Socialism calls for a huge build up of government that forces people to behave in a certain way, then generations later when they become accustomed to those behaviors, Karl Marx believed you could dismantle the government and people would just continue to behave properly.

Libertarianism, on the other hand, chooses to eliminate the government "cold turkey" and after a period of chaos ensues people will settle into proper behavior out of necessity for survival.

I find it hard to believe that Ron Paul will find a compatible running mate. Who else thinks like him?

Kucinich is a real puzzle. How can a guy support the constitution and also support socialism? What am I missing?

The first step to understanding is to stop viewing it as
LEFT ------------ RIGHT

and to begin viewing it as a circle.

Freedom is the point where both sides touch.

Beautifully stated! Nature works in circles not lines or squares.

man thats basically slander.

he is not a socialist. he has different ideas than RP but if Ron respects him so do I

Can you really see him endorsing Ron Paul?

He already told his supporters before if he doesn't make it to vote for Obama. I think Obama will get the endorsement.

It might give Ron Paul a bad name if he got that endorsement anyways. He gets enough shit because of his truther supporters. Imagine if a candidate who claims to have seen a UFO and heard aliens talk to him endorsed Ron Paul

Don't speak so soon. Jimmy Carter was very candid about seeing a UFO once.

jimmy carter's UNIDENTIFIED ufo!

true... he actually got more witty remarks said about the rabbit
that went near his canoe! yep... jimmy carter ALSO had a ufo sighting!

Dennis has been a co-sponsor on many of Congressman Paul's bills in the House, and Ron Paul has been co-sponsor of so many of Dennis Kucinich's bills.

In our survey of key votes in the 2005 & 2006 Congress, Ron Paul has the highest rating by Cannabis Culture (perfect voting record against war on drugs, Iraq, Patriot Act, Homeland Security, Broadcast decency Act, Plan Colombia, School of America torture school, anti-marijuana advertising) but Dennis Kucinich was third out of 435 US reps. (Barney Frank was second, Paul's chairman of the Banking Committee). The only vote Dennis & Paul didn't coincide on in those votes studied, was a vote to abolish the ONDCP (The Drug Czar's office of John Walters) in which Paul opposed the budget while Kucinich voted for it, Kucinich's only vote that could be interpreted as pro-drug war.

They both describe the other as a good friend and ally and both admit that their differences are on economic matters, not foreign policy, not drug policy and they usually agree on the interpretation of the US Constitution.

thanks!

i gotta say i love Dennis.

Reagan had conversations with Gorbachev about UFO's as well.

"At our meeting in Geneva, the U.S. President said that if the earth faced an invasion by extraterrestrials, the United States and the Soviet Union would join forces to repel such an invasion. I shall not dispute the hypothesis, though I think it's early yet to worry about such an intrusion..."

if he'd be willin' to go along with say... RAND PAUL this november? like
this could put pressure on the the TWO major candidates to take BOTH
DENNIS KUCINICH and Ralph Nader seriously! Or even the Constitution,
Libertarian or Green candidates... i am both irish and scots-irish... so
half~yankee me was thinkin' of esoterically votin' green... as march 17th looms! the pull
of the auld sod! yes! i like the color green. Rand Paul + Dennis Kucinich would
pull my eyes away from either a McCain v.Clinton or McCain v. Obama match!
