Kinky Friedman Endorses Ron Paul *Jesse Ventura NEXT*

Jesse will never, ever endorse a "Republicrat." He wouldn't endorse Schwarzenegger even though Arnie had helped in Jesse's election.

The irony is that Jesse Ventura governed as a "Republicrat," pushing through the light rail boondoggle and expanding public education, while doing such nominally libertarian things such as legalizing fireworks, but only the crappy ones.

I think Jesse would endourse Paul. Last time i heard from Jesse though was in a video with Alex Jones and he was burned out with a capital B. The man looked like the world had chewed him up and spit him out and he sounded like he was completely giving up on all politics and activism all together.

Heres a pretty good video of Jesse Ventura beating Donnie "Douche"'s ass on the Iraq war topic.

I dont think he would ever support anyone that has the Republican name attached to them though. Hes very strict on that I hear.

Be aware, Ventura has come out a bit and done several things w/Alex Jones, interviews, stuff for the Endgame film I believe, talking about 9/11 truth... so he may be onboard or probably will be.

I actually love the rail system in the twins cities. It was about time they addressed the traffic problem in that city. :)

Scrib Arnie is basically a Gulianni clone (without the divorces). He's really lefty on spending issues. I wouldn't blame Ventura for not supporting his neocon policy positions.

It's funny but I have this great impression of Ventura. But you live in MN and share otherwise from your experience. I'm in CA and let me tell you this guy is a nightmare. The dems keep sending him bill after bill that breaks the budget, and he keeps signing them.

Another possibility: Elvis Costello.

I went to see him in concert last night on a double bill with Bob Dylan :D and he introduced a song saying (something like): "This song is a about a war widow who starts to question what she is being told by her government. Some people call that treason. I call it patriotism." to great applause.

So, who here is a friend of a friend of a friend of Elvis? :)

JM

I don't mean this in a slanderous way, but Elvis Costello is a socialist.

Wahoo! Crappy fireworks! :D

What puzzles me is why Mel Gibson hasn't endorsed RP, even though he clearly doesn't agree with RP on all issues.
FWIW, from Wikipedia:

'While largely apolitical, Mel Gibson has been called everything from “ultraconservative”[57] to “politically very liberal” by acquaintance William Fulco.[58] Although he has denied that he is a Republican,[59] Gibson is often referred to as one in the press, and WorldNetDaily once reported that there was grassroots support among Republicans for "a presidential run".[60]
Gibson praised exposé director Michael Moore and his documentary film Fahrenheit 9/11.[61] Gibson's Icon Productions originally agreed to back Moore's film, but abruptly sold the rights to Miramax Films. Moore has claimed that "top Republicans" intimidated Mel Gibson into relinquishing the film.[62]
In a July 1995 interview with Playboy magazine, Gibson said President Bill Clinton was a "low-level opportunist" because someone was "telling him what to do". He said he thought Clinton and other politicians who had won Rhodes Scholarships were part of a "stealth" trend of Rhodes scholars becoming politicians who were striving for a "new world order." He said this was a form of Marxism.[63]
In 2004, he publicly spoke out against taxpayer-funded embryonic stem-cell research that involves the cloning and destruction of human embryos.[64]
In March 2005, he issued a statement condemning the ending of Terri Schiavo's life, referring to her death as "state-sanctioned murder" on Sean Hannity's radio show.[65]
Gibson first publicly questioned the Iraq war in March 2004 on Sean Hannity’s radio show.[66] In 2006, Gibson told the Time Magazine that the "fearmongering" depicted in his film Apocalypto "reminds me a little of President Bush and his guys."[67]'
