Ron Paul on the next economic collapse, America's future, and universal basic income

We need less, not more government intervention, and the stimulus that Americans have received is only going to exacerbate the current economic bubble that we’re in, said Ron Paul, former Congressman and host of the Liberty Report.

“When the inevitable correction comes it’s going to be more violent than ever before,” Paul said.

Mr Paul doesn't even go into detail for why a universal system is needed, fiat money or not, the problems are now.

That would be a difficult thing for him to do, since he doesn't believe a universal system is needed.

Neither do I, by the way.

You would make that point. Currently the candidate who stood for the Democrats last year, is attempting to try and get elected to the New York mayoralty, who does think this policy is necessary.

You only need to see what is happening in society. People like Paul don't think or care, he just thinks everybody can do what he did when he was a young boy, collect bottles. Last time I heard from Yang, those jobs don't exist anymore.

From the site basicincome.

he COVID-19 pandemic has exposed many discrepancies in our society. One of these inequalities, the idea of a liveable and obligation-free basic income (BI), is the subject of a new book by authors Jamie Swift and Elaine Power. The Case for Basic Income distills decades of research, in order to present the history of basic income and examine the issue in the context of current challenges to the job market, including precarious employment, automation, the climate crisis, and COVID-19, according to a press release from ZG Stories, who are promoting the book.
Power came to Kingston in 2004 to begin a faculty position in what is now the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen’s University. Soon after her arrival, she sought out local anti-poverty activists and met Swift. A longtime social justice advocate, Swift took part in a weekly social justice vigil that started in 1995, standing in front of Kingston City Hall on Fridays.
“That’s when a poor-bashing provincial government slashed social assistance by 22 per cent,” Swift said. “Those rates have never recovered. Many people live in poverty, obliged to wonder every single day about paying for food, shelter, and other basics.
“Poverty produces uncertainty and insecurity, generating anxiety that, in a perverse cascade effect, produces stress-related disease. Millions of our fellow citizens – especially racialized people and newcomers who aspire to citizenship – are colonized by stress and uncertainty.”
At Queen’s, Power developed and taught HLTH 101, The Social Determinants of Health, which examines the impacts of social factors, including income and education, on health. “Income is one of the most important determinants of health, operating through multiple pathways,” Swift shared with Kingstonist. “After guest speaker Rob Rainer came to Elaine’s class to discuss the idea of Basic Income to eliminate poverty, Rob joined a gathering of interested Kingstonians, including the authors, to discuss the development of an advocacy campaign to promote Basic Income.”

As it should!

The idea of freedom and liberty is to provide the opportunity for success, work is required.

Entitlement is a modern day concept that must be quashed.

Government must take from one to give to another, this is neither freedom or liberty.
