At least the NFL is scrupulously officiated, unlike the sham NBA that is essentially Big Time Wrestling theater.
It does seem to be improving. It needed to. Fifteen years ago, the officials seemed far more interested in making sure the games wound up on the minority side of the mafia's point spreads than in making sure the best team won. The way they robbed the Chiefs in Marcus Allen's last game (presumably because they thought that would be John Elway's last season) was as disgraceful as the extra special restrictor plate they issued Richard Petty for his last Daytona 500.
I guess they finally decided that keeping their fans engaged was more important than catering to the Vegas oddsmakers. Good decision.
