Kansas Caucuses Thread

My mother in law had to "wash the dog", instead of going to the caucus. So we call her afterward to see if the dog had been washed.....ARGH!!!!

I agree with you that the strategy of the campaign is puzzling. If they would have taken the Santorum route they would have picked up some states by now.

I am not entirely sure of that. It takes some ability to connect with the voters and that seems to be lacking. I like Paul, and have for decades - but he has this way of talking over people's heads. My wife, who does not follow politics closely at all, said that too me many times. "I know we like this guy, but honestly I have no idea half of the time what he is talking about". And just for clarification my wife is an intelligent, college educated professional. So if he isn't able to connect issue to voter with her, then how is he is going to do it with others that may not be as learned?

But Michael Savage calls Paul "neuron deficient"...

I hear you. My girlfriend is the same way. She has a master's degree and she still doesn't understand half the things Paul says. I wish Ron Paul had Rand Paul's communication skills and charisma. Then again I wish Rand Paul had 100% of his fathers views. There are times, especially now, where I wished that Rand was running and Ron was pumping and backing his campaign.

Oh dear god you people don't know what you are talking about.

Barack Obama did not win because of the youth vote. That is a FAUX PAS. The youth vote did not turn out in mass for him. They were not a high percentage of the turn out. About the same in 2008 as for the Republican nomination today. Maybe a point or two higher in a few states. Totally insignificant.

Barack won because he was very competitive with the OLD VOTERS. Look it up. CNN has the numbers...

Exit Polls from 2008

But Rand Paul doesn't seem to have the enthusiasm of his father, either.

I understand 100% of what Paul says, I wonder what people have trouble understanding ?

Well IMO, Romney and Santo are very enthusiastic candidates but they are clobbering us with the votes. I think Rand Paul would have been extremely competitive in this current field.

Oh, he would be the frontrunner no doubt.
