RT @SteveSebelius: Surrogate time: Josh Romney will address NV GOP convention in the morning. Ron Paul still speaking in afternoon.#wematter

Afternoon would surely be the better slot. People more alert and closer to voting, no?

Is NV bound or unbound? I keep reading that NV is bound but why would thereal2012delegatecount.com not already award these to Romney? Why would Ron Paul be speaking at a spot that could net him no delegates?

Links would be helpful when explaining. Thanks!

they probably think it would be embarrassing to have Romney speak there then lose the vote.

Josh is in hopes it will cause more Romney types to show up.

He is embarrassed either way, and that seems to be a campaign theme of his lately.

Latest gossip from NV convention:

1) Romney folks negotiating w/Paul contingent to give more natl slots. Maybe nearly 1/2. Don't want them to have 2/3.

2) Some in Paul forces think that's a good deal, but others hold out for more. Shows Romneyites don't want trouble on floor

Up to campaign if they think we will have enough pluralities to get Ron nominated from the floor and we get the leadership positions. But if that is in doubt (the pluralities...) I don't know the rules but I thought our guys were pretty confident of their position.

Point is, if the Romney folks think the Santa and Grinch delegates --ANTI ROMNEY votes -- are in play at all, why on earth would they go to Romney?

Also, there is the momentum question coming into Texas and California.

Thing is, if Romney doesn't want 'this embarrassment' he is a long way from accepting that conventions are to do work, not for coronations, and at some point the campaign has to draw a line, There isn't much time left. but they know all the pieces in play better than I do. I just hope the CAMPAIGN is involved, not just some coordinator in Nevada.

there should be no deals with romney folks in NV. Any talk of deals with romney folks is just scary.

Personally as a Paul strategists I would say: Give us 50%+1 Delegate and its a deal. We would have the delegate chair also by then. No trouble on floor (at least in NV convention).

But I can understand that many people here dont want any deals with Romney.

If we will clearly have plurality above Romney with the various at large delegates taken into account and assuming those for other candidates (if any) end up supporting Romney so having our number bigger than that total, I could see negotiating the 'blow them out of the water' numbers, depending on what we got.

Hate to say it Sailing, but with all of the media blackout, most people do not even realize the moment we're building :(

On the Texas side, I hope we at State can successfully ally with the Tea Party. They have a lot of control over the State level now, so we'll see.

We will need as many delegates as we can if this becomes brokered. They should of thought about trouble on the floor when they were railroading us in 08 and earlier this year.

WE could use 50%+1. We will likely get our five but we could use the excess to give to Santorum/Gingirch and force a runoff at the convention.

OF course the more the merrier.

That is why we need headlines this weekend and why Romney doesn't want us to have them

Why wouldn't Ron keep them and force the run off?
