Jesse Benton said on Alex Jones today that in the NV caucus it is expected to be around 30,000 voters turnout and all Ron would need would be 7-10k turnout for Paul to win. I think we can do this one..

I hope that we do win.
We need media recognition and proof we can win. That's the only real way we can break this "not electable" mentality.

how

How do they come to the conclusion that the turnout will be around 30,000? I am honestly curious as to how they come up with this number.

I can only hope and pray that this is true!

So you're saying Ron needs around 30% of the vote to win...

How on earth do you expect that to happen?

It's not going to. AIM FOR 3RD-4TH.

we've turned out 10k + in all previous primaries and have invested the most in NV, if we can get more than 10k people to the caucuses I'd be seriously disappointed

the estimation comes from the amount of people rgistered since registration is closed and the fact that this is Nevadas FIRST caucus.

Iowa and NH has huge turnout cause the other campaign had people driving around getting people who could care less to the polls.

first state without that kinda organization, MI, we see the turnout is abysmal. It's fair to insinuate this will be the case in most super tuesday states.

well, remember this is ON the same day as the SC primary.. IF Ron wins in neveda -- the MSM will ignore it and focus on SC.. trust me.

Alas this is true...to an extent. They won't give it quite as much coverage be definitely some. certainly more than he's gotten before. And it would send a pulse of energy through the grass roots that could really turn things around. Even a strong 3rd would be good. Keep expectations low. That's what every candidate tries to do and for good reason. For Paul, coming in 4th in Michigan was a win precisely because many expected him only to match Benito and Fredrick of Hollywood. If people had expected him to beat the Huckster, then his 4th place would have been very disappointing.

Trust those of us here in Nevada. We are doing all we can. We know how crucial this is, and we aren't giving up. And thanx to the g-roots in Michigan. You've given us hope.

I disagree. Nevada will have both Democratic and Republican caucuses, unlike SC, which should lead to more air time since the media is infatuated with the Dem. race.

It doesn't matter if the media covers it or not. We need a win so I can tell every "he can't win" voter "Really? He won Nevada, and that's only a start". I have nothing to say to that right now.

But for the voters in CA, WA, OR, and west part of country, where Paul's support is:

They may pay more attention.

Plus we can tell people he won/did well.

Are you saying Paul winning a state would do nothing for him? His biggest objection is "he can't win". If he wins Nevada that goes out the window.

Actually I expect they'll cover it if we win with the "look, hookers and gambling addicts vote Ron Paul" line.

I don't care if/how they cover it, we'll have the win to tell people about when we're going canvassing, which is what we need.

And we'll have the delegates.

The democrat are in force in nevada, but not the republicans this is the reason for the low expected turnout for the republican caucus

If he can pull a top 3 showing, I would be happy. The Republican party has really changed what they stand for and we have been left in the dust. It's all about flag waving and big deficits.

I think by being labeled "Republican" we are unable to reach many of those who would welcome our message. Many young people don't equate Rep's and Dem's by fisical priorities but more by their stances on social issues.
