Jersey beach smoking ban ridiculous

Im not in favor of any statewide bans but a lot of smokers on jersey beaches are beyond inconsiderate. Im a smoker too, but this group of asshats ruins it for the rest of us. It should be common sense when you're laying down on a crowded beach that you dont light up with other people in close proximity. You get up and walk to a more isolated spot. These people just dont seem to care about that though.
So the problem is PUBLIC beaches.

If they were private one would have differing markets catering to different peoples:
smokers, exhibitionists, nudists, Muslims and devout Christians, Whites, Blacks...

Asshats have been the bane of liberty since time immemorial. It's true, too.

People who can't take the responsibility for liberty don't want liberty. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let Warrior_of_Somethingorother use them as an excuse to enslave me.

Not being able to burn toxic chemicals in my vicinity is enslavement. Right. I guess environmental laws to prevent chemical waste being dumped into rivers is enslavement as well.

That does it. I'm sick to death of not only breathing all the noxious fumes from your car's exhaust--including the weird chemicals half burned from your modern octane boosters and the noxious chemicals from your catalytic converter--and listening to you bitch over absolutely nothing as well. Especially since you want to restrict my freedom for vaguely resembling someone you find irritating.

So hand over your car keys. Now. I can teach you how to ride a bicycle if you need me to. I do it most days.

I don't want your car idling in front my house, carbon monoxide.
You better not spray anything for weeds on your lawn, I have kids you know.
That rug you're laying down in that apartment of yours better be 100% wool. I don't need dangerous VOCs drifting up to mine.
I have asthma, you wear perfume to work I'm suing.
You did get your flu shot right. I did say I have asthma.
That weed whacker is polluting my space with noise. Knock it off. Where's a cop tazing when you need one.
What's with all these coal grills at the state park. I want this shit wafting over my picnic. <= I actually might start this ban rolling.

The same concentration of hydrogen sulfide will kill a man with just one breath.

Hydrogen sulfide is a component of human flatulence.

Therefore, mandatory ass plugs must now be used in all public places to prevent poisoning other people.

Mandatory butt plugs for everybody!

What's more, you're using electricity generated at a coal fired power plant. I'm coming over right now to take a sledge to your meter.

Using coal-generated electricity and trying to punish me for smoking one natural cigarette every two hours. Just because you mistook me for someone from New Jersey...

Your water heater gas powered? 'Cause I'm about to come plug up your damned vent. I might plug up the vent that allows gas from the sewer to escape your house as well. That stuff is heavier than air, and one hell of a lot more dangerous than anything I ever smoked.

By the time I get through with you, the next time some liberal tries to tie your panties in a knot you'll just cold cock 'em and save yourself a lot of trouble.

Oh, good. Then I can start a smoking by proxy company and smoke my own and the cigarettes of dozens of other people all at once. That way when I blow smoke in your face you'll actually have just cause to bitch and whine.

That's it. We would have a court system to enforce contracts, and when people do harm to others, when they take property or injure property, or pollute a neighbor's air, I think there's a role for government to protect our environment through private-property rights.

I don't care what you do, but if it's harming me, I do.
I don't park my car next to your body and idle, or park my chimney next to your body. But if you block my path, and I have no choice but to waft through your death incense on public property or my property at close proximity, that's harming me.

Are you bothered you can't smoke inside a library, town hall, the DMV, etc? There was a time people smoked inside schools. I would never have been able to concentrate smelling someone smoke in my classes all day. But I guess I would have had to deal with it right, because it's their freedom to poison the air I breathe.

Those Jersey beaches must be far, far narrower than they look in the photos.

It's a lot easier to prevent liberals from tying your panties in knots if you don't wear panties in the first place.

NJ is the most densely populated state in the U.S.

Like I pointed out in the other thread, the only nude beach in NJ is on federal land, they allow alcohol and this cig ban wouldn't affect it. Why would anybody want to go to any of those other beaches with stuck up nanny statists is beyond me.

TRENTON – The New Jersey Senate has passed a bill that would prohibit smoking at beaches and public parks in New Jersey.

Violators would face fines of at least $250 for the first offense.

Supporters are mad that the bill was amended to allow towns to set aside up to 20 percent of a beach or park as a smoking area.

The state Assembly in March passed a bill calling for the smoking ban.

Some beach towns already have banned smoking on their sands, including Belmar, Seaside Park, Long Branch, and Sunset Beach in Cape May Point.

More than a third of New Jersey's municipalities have laws on the books that restrict smoking in parks and recreational areas.

So if you want to smoke your brains out, just go to a town that has a smoking area to the beach. Just think, your own smoking area where you can meet other smokers.
