Well, my day is ruined.
People in this thread are merely pointing out that wearing a hoody isn't Gangsta.
Mine says "Boca." That sounds like gangsta a little, right?
Hold the Law Accountable for Injustices and Hoodie Profiling will vanish.
Or maybe everyone should start wearing hoodies like the people in Denmark in WW II who wore yellow stars so the state thugs there couldn't know who was or wasn't a jew? I have a Vanderbilt Law School hoodie. Does that say "gansta"?
I have a Penn State one.
Oh shit.
And all I have is a Ron Paul hoodie.Guess I'm toast.
If you drive around with a cheap druggie looking hoodie up in a nice neighborhood it will increase your risk of being noticed and perhaps harmed by police. Especially if you do not take it off when dealing with law enforcement. Not saying it right, it is just the nature of the beast.

Well, "the beast" should be fired, at minimum.
Nobody is denying that, people just got pissed because you applied that to this woman when it wasn't even remotely true.

After seeing the close-up I agree. Like I said in the thread it was my perception tuning in mid-stream that the treatment was based on profiling. I really should have proof read what I wrote since it did come off badly.
We can all speculate but neither you, I or anyone posting here knows for sure why these cops treated her so badly. But to get so outraged over blaming the reality of profiling, me thinks that is just pop-culture conditioning.
It is not a "cheap Druggie hoodie". Regardless or who is wearing it or where they are.
It is a common and very popular article of clothing..WORLDWIDE. And though is may be worn by some you may wish to justify the profiling of,, it is worn by literally millions of common folks everywhere.
And secondly,, The police assaulted her immediately while she was attending to her children. FOR NO REASON.
She was not committing any crime. None whatsoever. Nothing that would have justified treating her with that kind of disrespect.
If she was a hooded gang member that abuse would not be justified at all.
The only gang of thugs to be concerned with is the police themselves.
