This poll was from December 8th to 18th. Previous was from November 1 to 13.

Paul 27.5% +7.1
Gingrich 25.3% +20.5 (Keep in mind this last poll was taken right before the Newt surge)
Romney 17.5% +1.2
Perry 11.2% +3.3
Bachmann 7.4% -0.4
Santorum 4.9% 0.0
Cain 0.4% -25
Huntsman 0.3% 0.0

The data collected between Dec. 8 and 18 suggest that unlike the previous frontrunners, Paul’s support is more solid.

Paul is the first choice of 27.5 percent of 333 likely caucus-goers among the 740 registered Republicans and 200 registered independents contacted by ISU. That’s up from 20.4 percent in an ISU/Gazette/KCRG poll in November. He’s followed closely by former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich whose support increased from 4.8 percent to 25.3 percent. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in at 17.5 percent, up from 16.3.

Interesting. Since this was done over such a long period of time (Dec 8-18) this still reflects the Newt surge to some degree. This is looking good for us overall.

I was beaten to this as well. Was so exciting writing it up, dind't even see the other ones pop up.

amazing crosstabs for age.

They interviewed the same people in December as they did in November. Very interesting.

"Because the same individuals were surveyed in November and December, ISU pollsters were able to determine that Gingrich is the first choice of 38 percent of the former Cain supporters. Paul gets another 20 percent, Perry 14 percent and Romney 8.5 percent."

November Gender comparison

Interesting. These are the same people in November and December?

Ron Paul is getting women now.

100% of the gains have been with women. Actually down with Men. but from 18% to 31% with women. About 25 women of 333 total voters.

the polling found that 51 percent of those naming the libertarian-leaning Texan as their first choice are “definitely” backing him.

The percentage for the next two candidates is much weaker, at 16.1 percent for Romney and 15.2 for Gingrich, McCormick said.

Awesome...

Ron Paul IS getting women.
The only demography he is still weak on is the old farts(..ehm..i am like 270 yrs.old)I wonder if we should have a special "campaign section' dedicated to them.
they do not enter the internet and they need gentle, patient extra work and explanations on certain subjects, including make them feel sure about not losing their entitlements, foreign policy etc.

Honestly, what happened to women all of a sudden? It was almost a 4 to 1 male vs female ratio in older polls. Now they're even, and women are even beating men? Did I miss a beefcake for Paul calendar?

Yea, the old farts are mostly all Grinch supporters, because they remember him from the Clinton days, and more forgiving, plus they dont know what the internet is yet  and still read their morning paper while taking their morning dumps. From the ones that i do see online, same thing, mostly Grinch...bah.

Just today, my 89 year old grandfather liked Ron Paul on Facebook.

if anyone has experience with caucuses, do elderly people usually show up to them in big numbers?
