Then I think they haven't studied the ancient writings in the Old Testament very well. Or supplanted it. OReich mentions Orthodox Jews. Do you know if there is something in the Talmud which teaches that being Jewish is a function of one's bloodline apart from faith in God? I would think no, but haven't studied the Talmud so I am not sure.

Oh, if you ask Christians whether they support the Constitution, I imagine the vast majority would say yes. But their voting behavior demonstrates that either they don't understand what the Constitution says, or they don't support it, since they consistently vote for candidates who propose to create/retain unconstitutional programs.

In 2012, about 2% of the electorate voted for candidates whose platforms were consistent with the Constitution, either in the primaries or the general.*

Ron got about 1% in the GOP primaries, the LP got about 1% in the general.

And, it just so happens that according to Jewish law, Judaism passes genetically through the mother, and is NOT belief-based. So according to the Orthodox (the only people who really care about Judaism in a strict sense), I'm a Jew period. There are also Atheist Muslims now, because, like Judaism, it has traditions and holidays, so to continue those traditions, we choose to identify as culturally Jewish or culturally Muslim. It doesn't make sense, but I call myself Jewish. Because Jews are a minority, Judaism is like an ethnicity to us, its like a tribal loyalty to our family.
